I mean it is speculation as it cant be proven, like you mentioned only they will know, none of us will ever know about the contract, whether you've been here for months and eliminate whatever other options, still doesn't change the fact that us as viewers or fans will never know why the decision was made and cant just assume its a contract (its not our place to say). Yesss so agree, even Reba is already giving me Ren AnLe / Di Zi Yuan vibes, amazing how shes able to embody both Di Zi Yuan and Ji Yunhe so differently just based off the clips available. ikr! I was so overwhelmed the first time and just had to repeat 10 times more so I can absorb everything in haha, I just read that the screen writer is known for ruining scripts. This worries me now as there are so many iconic moments in the novel that I hope they stick to tsk, if he has such a bad rep then idk why they still involve him. Hmmm just seems like pure speculation to me, I have to correct myself from what I mentioned before but it was the director who came up with the parrot scene himself and then said he didn't know people would be so upset about it. This shows that even if he has advocated for good kissing scenes in previous dramas it may not be the case for TLB since its a completely different story and situation. So you cant completely rule out that the director made the decision for no kissing. To say it was a no kissing contract is a bit much I mean he could of just had a conversation with the director, Wu Lei has always said he is open minded to trying new things and even goes to the extreme of preparation way before filming. I dont think he has any real reason to reject kissing scenes, the only reason I've seen is to save his first kiss for his movie but who really knows lol there's no way we will ever know, just wanted to share my 2 cents to this late discussion because whether there was a kiss or not I honestly dont mind.

Is that no kissing contract true or proven? because I read it was the director or producer (either one of them) that made the decision of no kissing scenes as the original manhua doesnt even have much romance only at the end kind of where we get a bit of sense that they like each other but thats about it. So it makes sense to have no kissing, and we should be lucky that was even any romance included in TLB. (sorry this part of my comment is for the OP comment above).
