I hope the acting is good I really want to love this drama <3 The cgi is good, the premise is decent, and the trailers show that it's gonna be a rollercoaster!

The difference between dragging plot with interesting cliffhangers and actually tight knit plot is how well the story beats are selected. A tight knit plot will have the discordant dual presence of twins, reveal of twins, conclusion of twins in the same episode, with the cliffhanger being - how do we protect the good twin while trapping the bad. There would also be a relative hierarchy of plot points, which would dictate the time spent on the plot point - the PM's son learning about their true identity is not as important as the queen learning about JY. There is also a difference between implicit and explicit depiction - PM's son learning about the true identity could have been shown with gestures instead of being spelt out. There is also a mismatch of tone - the plot feels like a cute low stakes romcom being shoved into the heavy genre of political assassinations and mysteries. A plot like this suits hardcore romance instead of focusing on "will they won't they" stage - the leads knowingly protecting each other by keeping each other in dark about their feelings >>>> living in denial.

What I'm trying to say is that while I am watching the drama, it's not as enjoyable as I want it to be and that makes me sad. There are so many missed opportunities to make things amazing.

I have a thing for bad boi MLs as long as they get a good redemption arc or have an equally feisty FL 🤣

I'll forever be bitter about the fact that Danyin x Xunfeng romance was cut off. And the drama is still in my top 10. And I agree - just follow the normal xianxia pattern if the script is too difficult to handle. I don't mind at all🤣

I'm down to watch an LBFaD remix. I don't care as much about originality in good fantasy romances. Just give me a pairing to root for and die for, some great kisses and comedy, and I'm satisfied.

i completely agree with that. I dropped it too because i couldn't stand the ML and the humor felt flat.
HL in that FL's position would have made the dude so miserable that he'd have exiled himself of his own accord. She would not tolerate even a bit of bad behavior. FL here is strong regardless of any standards while FL in the other series is strong as the traditional people want women to be.

These were my favorite dialogues from the episode too. It was a riot lmao. And when Liuli said Princess Fushou was a bad name like girl has her priorities 🤣🤣

Everytime I watch an episode of this drama, i giggle and grin so much because everyone is so adorable i cannot-

I LOVE Liuli's family esp her dad!! So adorable. They all bullied the crown prince and didn't let him see her, and it's so cute to see Liuli so loved and adored!!! I really adore the whole family, and the awkwardness between the crown prince and his future FIL was such a treat!!!! Also Liuli's mom saying women have the leadership in their family to threaten him! I need more dramas like this 😭😭

I hated the ML till ep 4 and almost dropped the drama but after that he improved so much. I can watch it now! I don't really enjoy it that much, but i can put up with it when i have nothing to watch

Gosh i love Princess Jiamin. I adore all the characters here - everyone is so nice and wholesome and sweet, even the antagonists are adorable and dumb.
