It could trigger you

I liked this drama despite the issues, spolier alert!
The ML has paranoia and anxiety due to his upbringing and he lashes out at the FL lead whenever she's with her ex. At the beginning it's kinda cute that he's prptective and jealous, but then it quickly turns violent, and then escalates some more. Honestly I've been in similar situations as the FL and wanting the man you love to change while you're with them is impossible. The best thing they could have done was split up and try to work through their issues separately. I do like that the drama made it clear the ML had serious issues and needed therapy. I don’t think that's mentioned enough in any dramas especially since in a lot of them the MLs are overbearing, jealous and quick to fight and get angry. I would say this is a good warning to girls who like this type of obsessive ML. It may be ok in dramas but it's straight up toxic in real life and this drama portrayed that well. I went in thinking it would be a cute romance but instead there was a lot of really complex emotions and it explored the damage bad parenting can cause. If you're not put off by some violence and depictions of physical abuse, definitely watch.

A fun watch, but not a romcom

This was a great drama, but it was not a romcom. Yes, they most certaintly wanted us to have fun watching, and I did. There were a ton of laugh out loud moments, but this drama had a serious tone and pacing problem. The quick cuts from comedy to tragedy got dizzying and by the end I was just skipping the silly bits so I could get back to the main plot. And the main plot is rewlly convoluted on its own, I’ve been watching dramas since 2014 and I couldn't guess where it was going because it seemingly went in nonsensical directions just to try and elongate the episodes and keep it fresh. Again, I liked this drama but it could have been 4 episodes shorter. The male lead was wonderful though, he was everything the story needed him to be at any given time, and he had no issues with his sweet and cute scenes. It was just annoying how much he didn't want to show the female lead how much he loved her, again this set the plot back by a lot. This story is totally male lead falls first and hard, but it's not really an older woman/younger male tag, which is where I found this. There's time travel involved but when she's in the past they are the same age in reality. And that brings me to the female lead, I did like her, but not as much as the male lead. She was very passionate but didn't consider the male lead's feelings as much as she should have, causing them years of heartbreak and loneliness. And also, let's be clear that these two look their age. There's nothing wrong with that but all the characters looked like they were in their late 20s to mid 30s and it was not believable seeing them dressed up as high schoolers and then as college freshman.
Overall I really did like this drama and if there had been a bit more editing and awareness of tone shifts, this would have been a 10. Sadly, I'll give it a 9 instead.

This was not cute!

I expected a sweet drama with some real life understanding of what a relationship between a teacher and her student would be like. Based on the top reviews, it should have been a masterpiece... I was bamboozled! In the first episode the ML slaps the FL when she calls him handsome. Immediately I had red flags but
I tried to stick through it. By episode 2 he was confessing his feelings and when she told him she wasnt't interested, he did what he wanted to anyway! And not just once, multiple times! Because as he put it "romance should have been sweet, why did it turn out this way?" For him, his feelings were more important than hers. By the end of the episode when hes's hugging her after she tells him to stop and he says he doesn’t care if people see them, I knew I would have to drop this drama. I'm sure there is going to be some convoluted reasons the writers use to make us think these two are destined for eachother but I can't think of a single reason why she should leave her fiance for this immature child. Anyways if you've read my rant and want a reward, some actual good age-gap/ teacher romances are chinese dramas, Falling into you, and Nothing but you!
