Aside from their first meeting at the royal school, one of my favorite scenes that really showcased why Heejoo is the way she is was when Ian changed the rules and regulations for archery practice. When Heejoo found out about it, she wasnβt happy or thankful. Rather, it hurt her pride because privileged people like Ian can easily alter the rules, things are simply easier for them because theyβre at the top of the hierarchy. For someone like Heejoo, despite being rich, she is still a commoner and an illegitimate child at that. Even though she works hard for everything she has, she is still looked down upon because of her status. Despite her flamboyant and fearless personality, she has her internal struggles, and I cannot wait to get to know her more. Itβs also so refreshing to see IU in a comedy!!

In HDL, while there are subplots from JMW's staff and ghostly guests, it centers around her past, hidden grudges, desires, and growth. She is both the heart and soul of the drama.
As for the anthology series Persona, while it's quite short and underrated, it's still a solid and direct example of what you're asking. The purpose was to showcase her acting range. She plays four entirely different characters in that anthology, directed by different directors: A spiteful daughter, a mysterious witch, a loyal friend, and a broken woman.
