I completely understand. I really do. The ups and downs along with the indecisive, impulsive actions of the characters could DEFINITELY make people feel that way. I think that KNOWING that you hated it was because it related to your own teenage years in some way is an amazing thing for a viewer/movie to realize/do.
I am a HUGE fan of Asian dramas, however, there are a few things that stood out to me pretty immediately even though I watch a lot of fluffy stuff that doesn't have a lot of the more aggressive stuff in it (in the way of men attacking/hurting women). HOWEVER, after a few weeks of watching the dramas (I got addicted, what can I say?) -- I would end up yelling at my TV, "Does no one know how to HOLD HANDS? What's with all the wrist grabbing?" It didn't make sense to me. Not only that, but I was always confused about the eyes wide open, and no lip movement from the women. Or the fact that they either had their arms pinned down by their sides and staring wide-eyed. It just kind of... Confused me. Reading this opened my eyes a lot. Thank you for taking the time to write it.
