P.S Pat's response is reasonable. A lot of you haven't simultaneously dealt with an ex AND an extraordinarily kind, respectful, handsome and perfectly mature man who is also your BOSS. It's showing throughout the comment section. Ben is a new actor, he will eventually come around — but a lot of you will never. He likes Jeng and we will know that straight away in the next episode when they kiss but, oh my god, you have to be real slow to not understand why they're doing the things they're doing. Yes, 9th episode was sortaaaa messy but the show makes perfect sense. If you want your protagonists to fall in love by the second episode AND have s*x by the fourth, go find shows like that. I am perfectly sure you will find them within five minutes. There are rare thai bl shows where they do something different, and y'all just lose your heads. Stop spreading hate. This entire comment section is a mess. I so hope no one from Step By Step is seeing all this.
I remember picking up Thai BL some years ago. But I got so bored of everything lmao I mean I do not mean that they were bad, but my taste didn't agree with what they were making at that time. So, I sort of avoided Thai/ Korean bl for a long time. I didn't like the execution. But Step By Step... I am not sure how I came across this, or how I didn't fight myself once to stop watching what could potentially have been another of those bl dramas. But I was not disappointed!
Step by Step is literally one of the finest made bl works ever. I dont even mean to compare it to the stuff like "Night Flight," it wasnt even a bl to begin with, but my favourite list consists of Night Flight. Step By Step is definitely a part of that list, along with "Young Royals."
The best part is that the entire thing does not necessarily revolve around their love and sexuality; rather, they are part of a bigger picture. That bigger picture is life. I genuinely consider that important. Besides that, of course, the acting/ casting, production, mise-en-scene, and everything else is so awesome! Both the main couples make sense. Their chemistry does not seem made up. The spark seems so natural.
P.S I am all in for some serious real-life like vibes, but I still want some raunchy kiss scenes for our Pat and Jeng, just like Jen and Jaab 🥲 They have waited a long time. Please, give them (and us) that.
