This episode (9) had no business being this good. It was basically a feature film, even lenght wise. Beautiful direction and shot composition, with thoughful character introspection and story progression, and the best performance of the cast thus far. Even the use of the music and the editing felt elevated, I don't know what happened this week lol.
I was ready to tune out a couple of episodes ago and here I am having to pause feeling the tension during the coming out scene. Can't wait to see how it wraps up.
As a movie it fails: there's a poor setup (my adult girlfirend's parents separeted so I had to go back to her, uhm ok?) to create confilict between the protagonists which is then followed by a sequence of awkard situations straight out of the bl book. Springle in an unnecessary side story with the friends that existed just to give them something to do (and to plug). The ending was cute but those last scenes pretty much wrote themeselves. The whole thing feels like a first draft of a script that was quickly shot in order to cash in on the success of the youtube series. I couldn't enjoy the emotional moments cause the magic was over for me at that point. I loved the atmosphere of the show and the way it was able to describe the feelings these boys were developing for each other. I rememeber almost tearing up during the performance of their assignment. The movie wasn't able to recreate that, which is a shame. p.s While Tony Labrusca's acting is wodden and not really believable, JC knocks it out of the park. You could see all the emotions he was portraying written on his face. Good job JC.
if you like bl tropes like gay for you and man/woman dynamic lazily applied to the main couple, attempted rape and homophobia played for laugh with no consequence, awful writing (let's not even mention the last couple of episodes) and clunky acting then this is defintely the series for you. Skip skip skip.
In the year where I told sunset about you and gaya sa pelicula and the korean bl dramas came out it's inexcusable for a bl to be this much of an embarassing MESS.
It actually has really good quality... try to switch it 1080
I use wetv, and stream at 1080p. It's not an internet issue cause I downloaded the source file and it looks the same. Wetv is cheaping out on the streaming quality a bit, averaging about 1.5 mb/s per full HD file, and I suspect there's a frametime problem in the source file creating jitter/stutter as well (in a static shot it's not really noticeable, but if you pay attention during a pan shot you'll see the problem). The Manner of death files are streaming at the same (low) bitrate quality but with zero playback problems. I undestand this isn't something most people will care about, but it's worth pointing out, since some of us are even paying for the vip. I doubt anyone from wetv is reading this tho lol.
is it just me or the quality of the video upload on wetv for this show is really low?. It looks choppy as hell, like it's skipping frames left and right.
That finale wasn't it. To just put off a goodbye, what's the point. You either find a way to make him come back to life or you give them a final goodbye. Anything after that middle of the episode fadeout to black felt like a consolation prize.
I really regret that at this moment many people don't know about this series. whereas, if we watch it while it…
To be fair to them, this show is way beyond most of the shows that get dumped on youtube, quality wise. I see why they'd want a return on their investment. If ep 5 doesn't disappoint I plan on buying it just to support the creators and studio.
You're just saying that because this is not your cup of tea. I think you have been exposed with all the NC scenes…
It's not about it not being NC. There's plenty of NC bl's that are absolutely drivel (see, recently, My Day). It's not my cup of tea for the way it's executed.
Must be one of the most tired, low effort, boring thai bl that ever aired. Although My Gear and your Gown it's giving it competition for that spot. This 8.5 rating is simply ridicolous.
Really Taiwan? et tu?
