I agree i switched 6 years ago (not completely though there are still some western shows i watch mainly sci, historical etc) because i got sick of western tv and the bs that came with a lot of it.
As for propaganda i mostly agree also about it being more patriotism and national pride but i have seen the odd blatant bit of propaganda slipped in here and there, but only in modern C-Dramas.

They changed the rules again in august last year, the 40 ep cap was introduced in 2020 to stop excessively long series to to filler ep's etc allowing the producers to milk more money from advertisers etc.
