the comments somehow give off the air of a battlefield.... Not really encouraging for people to try this drama.

That's why you have people who keep posting and gushing over the show - probably they really love the show or could just be fan of the actor.
And then there are those like Simplifica who has been actively dissing the show for pages.
Try it out for yourself. If you love it, come back here if you feel the urge to tell others how you found your crack drama. If you hate it, rant some and leave unless you have no life.

If you come here to find out whether the drama is worth watching, you must sieve through all the haters' and fans' comments. Maybe only 20% will give you an objective view. Yong Pal can be overhyped by fans or hated upon by anti-fans of other actors or other dramas. When a drama does well, a lot of people get jealous.
Not perfect but to me, Yong Pal is one of the best dramas this year.
