Title Me and Thee
Halfway through and so far, this show has become the most "laugh out loud" funny SEA show I've seen. And that's even in comparison to the last show for the two MLs, which is among my favorites. I also appreciate the great range of relationships depicted between the couples as well as the supporting characters.
Very story driven backed by some exceptional performances. Here's hoping for an ending as exceptional as the story so far.

"backlash against LGBTQ+ in the country"??? There's no such thing in the first Asian country to…
Not mine personal decision. A lot of the talent for production has been lured out of Taiwan by bigger salaries and more work available on the mainland. The mainland is producing as many (if not, more) productions than all asian countries combined, even with cracking down on BL/GL productions. Even Korean and Thai actors are being recruited.

Think of it like mom and pop grocery stores versus Big Box and online stores in the US. They are being swallowed up. And there just aren't ANY new productions in the pipeline as far as I can find online. NOT ONE! In other words, if they aren't making any new ones, there won't be anymore to see, regardless of my personal preferences.

The mainland is basically putting Taiwan dramatic production out of business by flooding the market with more Chinese language productions, which I'm sure helps with their long-term objectives by reducing their global cultural footprint.

Now, if you still can't recognize that I'm talking about something in the big global picture. any more discussion on this topic is pointless.

I feel that they left room for special episodes. They know there are many special chapters that were not covered…
Just googled upcoming BL dramas. Here's the link. Pay attention to what countries aren't on the list (Hint: See above). And out of 2 pages, only 3 possible ones in Mandarin. The crackdown is in full swing...Again! And the last time there was political backlash to a popular BL series, it took 8 years for another to come out.

"country that DOMINATES MANDARIN DRAMATIC PRODUCTIONS". If that isn't clear, click on the Calendar link above and see which country has the most asian dramatic productions, regardless of the day

Yes, it was a truly terrible last episode. The lack of satisfying closure to one of the main storylines and the rushed transitions to the other is utterly disappointing.

However, I suspect that production may have been rushed as a part of the internal political backlash to the popularity of another Mandarin-language BL (carefully not mentioning origin country of either). So, in my humble opinion, no matter how Addicted (subtle reference intended) we are to this show and productions like this, I suspect that there will be another HUGE gap between dramas with gender bending storylines from said country, much less a second season of this one.

On another note that is obviously not related to this...Thank God for Thailand! Ya Heard!

It’s been since March of 2023 since I’ve heard anything about this. Anyone have updates or is this scrapped?
Cross your fingers on any new Taiwanese dramas upcoming. Judging from my inability to find any Taiwanese dramas planned to be released soon, it looks like most of the talent for Mandarin-speaking productions has been swallowed up by another country's productions.

A little unusual but it redeems itself mostly by the end. Characters that start off a little annoying become kinda lovable by the end. Glad that I watched to the end without reading comments. And because of the following article and others about heavy anti-LGBTQ+ backlash against other Mandarin language dramas, I wonder if I will see anything like this in the future.

Sadly, this may be the last Taiwanese drama, particularly BL one, for a while. Noticing that I didn't seem to see anything new from Taiwan, I googled upcoming Taiwanese dramas and found the following disappointing news. This combined with the backlash against LGBTQ+ in the country that dominates Mandarin dramatic productions does not bode well for getting other dramas like this, which I believe is a real shame.

Watching "My Youth" and almost didn't recognize him. Congratulations on the growth spurt. He now looks like an adult, even though he's once again playing a younger version of the main lead again. Hopefully, he can graduate to main leads next, like Yeo Jin Goo. Fingers crossed.

While you're technically correct, "abridged" is too often associated with dictionaries and not music. And "extended" would be too direct. I think that they were shooting for something with a little whimsy to it and just mistakenly caused confusion.

I was just suggesting other options that maybe would have hit their target with the general lay public. Not something worth writing a thesis over, though.

I would have probably caught "Tracks" or "Singles" versus "Album" or "Movement" versus "Symphony" better. Also, "Arias" versus "Opus" or "Solos" versus "Symphonies". Acoustic has a lot of meanings and almost none of them suggestions sections to me. Just sayin.

Can someone explain why there's an acoustic and an orchestric version, pls?

Didn't realize until today that this was a Boun Prem project. Haven't seen it yet but I'm already looking forward to a show where neither dyes their hair. In Until We Meet Again, Boun got on the bus to the River Kwai without his roots showing, was on the bus without them showing, and then got off the bus with them showing a full inch. And Prem's orange hair in Evening Sun spoiled Evening Sun for me. It was just so visually loud that I couldn't get past the first episode.
On Shine (Acoustic Ver.) Aug 23, 2025
One other very general question: Are comments that contain spoilers that aren't labeled as such deleted? I left and came back to respond to a comment about the show only to find it missing. Thinking back, I realize it showed a discussion of a plot element without the option to reveal or hide spoiler. Not planning to spoil the plot myself. Just for my own reference.
On Shine (Acoustic Ver.) Aug 23, 2025
I actually am impressed with the plot and character development in what I've seen so far. I think that the story and the people are stimulating and compelling. I just have two odd questions.

Does anyone know what is the difference between the Acoustic and the Orchestra Versions? I've been watching the Acoustic version, because I worried it might have an overwhelming soundtrack (ala A Young Lady and a Gentleman) where I couldn't finish the first episode. Just wondering if the Orchestra version (which seems to be getting more promotion) is endurable.

Also, is it just me, or does something about this period piece, with the 1970's clothing and hairstyles, make seemingly EVERYONE look so much more attractive. I've seen a lot of these actors in other shows and I've seen other Thai period pieces from the early 1900's, but DAYUM! Something about this show makes everyone -- the conservative AND the hip, the men AND the women -- look better than any Thai show (or Asian show for that matter) that I can remember seeing. Even overlooking that they probably aren't using the highly uncomfortable fabrics from the actual 70's, it's visually amazing IMHO.

Are there any important content differences in the versions on different streaming sites? I actually have Viki, Gaga and IQ and wonder which is best for viewing (IQ has the least obtrusive screen controls but seems to post later than the others.)
On My Sweetheart Jom: Uncut Aug 4, 2025
I'm going to ask something that may make me sound like a newbie, but I need to clear up some confusion anyway. Does an Uncut version refer to having additional material or to not being broken up to make room for commercials on YouTube? I have multiple sources for international videos and I suspect that some are misusing the Uncut label.

Okay! I'm about to start episode 10 and I get what all the fuss is about. Hard not to binge. Hope the final episodes bear out.
