It wasnt exactly horrible but it was kinda meh for me. I expected the special episode to cover the plot holes of the main series but it didnt. I appreciate the fact that they disnt whip up a special to milk the popularity of kaoup. Instead they were planning it alongg with the shoot of the main series.
Things I liked: 1) There is no HEA and every relationship needs work no matter how many years you have been together. Communication is very important. 2) Abuse in relationships has to be addressed properly and its high time to stop them. 3) Intimacy in relationship is more than sex. 4) Mentioning marriage equality 5) Kisses!
Things that were quite ambiguous which the director could have narrated differently: 1) Conflict of love languages between Sib(physical) and Gene (verbal). This happens a lot irl. 2) Introduction of the character of Book to show that being silent doesnt benefit onself. This could make Gene realise how small the conflict is the one he has with Sib that could be dealt with proper communication. 3) I felt Gene was still struggling to write the novels he always wanted to write while Sib became quite successful in real estate business in the span of two years. This could have made Gene to shut out everyone around him so that he can prove himself too.
Things I didnt like: 1) Gene pushing away Sib was a little too much. 2) The whole horror theme. This is a little personal as I am not a fan of this Genre. 3) Gene's plan was more childish than Sib's considering Gene has always been portrayed as the more mature and sensitive one. 4) Introducing Aoey to show only to remind the negative consequences of unhealthy shipping. Who even invited him to Sib's birthday? I wish they had shown that atleast he is on therapy. Sigh! 5) Mohk is friends with Sib and Gene now? When did that happen? Why wasnt this explained properly?
Ep 12 looked unrealistic. they tried everything. because they're scared of fans. yes, the director is a genius.…
The last episode definitely has its flaws too. The director is trying to tell the audience what is real and what is not by breaking the fourth wall in the last few minutes of the episode. Sib and Gene are not real people but fictional characters.Thats why the writer is shown at the end.
Your review is so genius as well ! I think you're totally right about breaking bl tropes. So actually that ending…
Thats the brilliance of the director. Its upto the audience to decide. I believe kao and up were given different hairdo, makeup and not the usual costumes of the characters to show that its the ending the writer has written. Since its not very realistic that could be one of the reason for mentioning that there will be changes in contents during that phone conversation with the writer. This also helps to explain the gaps between the novel and the series. I heard that this is a very popular novel there.
When I saw this ending yesterday, I was like wtf. This is not what I expected. I expected something entirely different.
But.. The more I thought about it the director is a genius. He was trying to break many bl tropes in this series and whenever the trope was inevitable it was clearly shown that it happens only in a novel. Like in ep6, Gene confronting Sib about stalking him would be considered romantic only in a novel. It was inevitable because that trope could not be avoided as it is a huge part of the story. In ep 11, when the big conflict happens, facing the industry, media and fandom and going against them will only happen in a novel. This is something most of the people here was asking for; You and Me against the world, which unfortunately isn't realistic in the current scenario of BL industry. The last one of 'this happens only in a novel' is when Sib and Gene living their normal lives without nobody interfering their sweet moments, no paparazzi and only respectful fans approaching them (also a guy who writes BL). This could be one reason why Sib and gene looks different here because they have clearly differentiated sibgene in the series and sibgene in the novel with their appearances. The series with some contents changed is shown until the END part and the director has clearly conveyed through making the actors do fairytale enactments that it is still a fantasy for people like Gene and Sib to have the ending what everyone expects for. They continue to date secretly and they can never have an ending the audience wants unless there is a change in the way people perceive BL and BL actors. Isn't that genius?
Aey isnt evil. What he did was a cry for help. He didnt feel happy and satisfied after the live. And throughout…
I wish atleast kao and up will be spared from toxic fandom. Otherwise it would be too ironic. They seem like really good friends. All the bts scenes show the amount of effort they put into each scene and show the differences in their reel and real life. I get sp irritated even when the channels use heart emojis and cheesy music when they accidentally touch their hands or stare at each other. The industry is feeding toxicity to the toxic fans.
Aey isnt evil. What he did was a cry for help. He didnt feel happy and satisfied after the live. And throughout the meeting he had his head down which shows that he had an overwhelming guilt. Poor guy cannot even figure out whats happening with him (Sorry this is coming from a mental health professional). I wish to see him attending therapy to resolve his issues. Through the character of Aory they have tried to address the mental health issues in the industry too and how neglected they are.
This conflict was inevitable. All the comments showing gene was right or wrong, or should or shouldnt have listened to sib is all what the conflict is about. Their individual differences finally came to light during the time of a conflict. Gene tends to care more about thr people around him and Sib tends to care more about himself. I think this is the first time sib shouted at gene because he was so frustrated.
Coming from an entertainment industry Sib knows that the 'wait for 4 months' is bullshit and a way of controlling their personal lives. Once you comply to one rule, you are bound to comply to many rules later. Sib lives his life based on his own rules. He would have to pretend that hesnt dating gene and meet him in secret which doesnt not suit his character.
Its easy to guilttrip gene. Aoey used it to make him stay away from Sib. He doesnt want to be guilty for ruining sibs career. I am very intrigued how they are going to wrap this up to a happy ending. Cant wait for next week!
Most of the comments here points towards expectations about flawless characters in a series even though we all have some kind of flaws in real life. I love this series especially because nothing is toxic in here and at the same time none of the characters are portrayed as flawless.
Nubsib- Nubsib has always been shown as borderline obsessive. I cannot rationalise his behavior for stalking Gene and tricking him. However, that's the only way he could present himself as someone having a crush on Gene and not just as a childhood friend. He has been shown very vigilant and protective of Gene which could come across as quite annoying. I think this is probably because he approached Gene with an ulterior motive and he would think anybody approaching him could have a hidden agenda too. And considering how easily he could trick Gene, it wouldn't be surprising if Sib is concerned about that. Regarding the confidence he has in himself and his relationship, this could stem from how he was treated well by the people around him. Everywhere he goes, people treat him well for his good looks. He never had problem with gaining approval and acceptance. This could be one of the reasons why he's very casual in disclosing his relationship with Gene as he doesn't anticipate disapproval at all. Being a new actor, he is also unaware about how toxic the fandom can be. Gene- I love how the director has kept his character quite consistent from the beginning to until now. He's an introvert and he is very hesitant to express himself. Unlike Nubsib, he's always worried about acceptance and approval. The way he's very non assertive with Bua and submissive with Nubsib shows that he has a fear of rejection. This fear of rejection might have been the reason for driving Sib out of his apartment when he realised his feelings for Sib. Even after being in a relationship, Gene prefers his time alone which is not surprising for an introvert he is. The scene where Nubsib asks him to wait for him to play at the beach reminded me of the hide and seek scene from their childhood. And why Gene waited for him could be because this. Aoey- I applaud the actor for portraying this character so well. He has pulled off that pathetic face damn good. He makes the audiences oscillates between hate and pity so effortlessly. I wouldn't be surprised if he uses any opportunity to seperate Sib and Gene. He even lies to Gene that he liked Nubsib to guilt trip him and make him stay away from Sib. The only thing that may change him is seeing the one he loves going through the lowest point in his life which is Gene being attacked from everywhere for being in a relationship with Nubsib. Only then he would realise that it wasn't only him fighting for acceptance. This could be an opportunity for redemption.
Mhok- This character is pretty underwhelming for me. Less evolved and underdeveloped. He had been confessing and showing his love in secret for Aoey. Seeing how Sib and Gene fighting for their love could move him and stand up for Aoey in front of his family. This validation could have been something Aoey always wanted as he was envious of Gene because people who loved Gene never hesitated to express it, including himself.
Tiffy and Tum- Totally disappointed with the development of this couple. Romance of straight couples are usually treated poorly in mostly of the BLs. Atleast here, it's wasn't toxic and unhealthy. It would have been refreshing to see Tiffy chasing Tum and Tum being doubtful about her feelings because she told she used to date girls.
I personally feel a conflict is unavoidable and more necessary here for Sib and Gene. Sib should deal with his codependency during this seperation period and Gene with his hesitancy in giving all in and his fear of rejection.
Overall I love this series despite its flaws. It's surprising to see so many comments glorifying consent which shows how much romanticizing has been done so far to non consensual, rape and forced intimate scenes in other BLs.
If it's made by GMMTV you're lucky if you get a bed scene and they at least give one solid good kiss but this…
After re watching the entire series, I wish they had taken the POV of Sarawat after the 6th episode. The series hasn't done enough justification to portray the real conflict experienced by Sarawat when he met Tine. I agree there were some flashbacks, but that that wasn't enough for me. How Sarawat felt during the first few episodes would have been great to watch.
Disclamer : Negative opinion (please don't kill me)I wasn't able to watch more than 2 ep but it has nothing to…
Yes, the editing is so sloppy. I felt quite confused in the first few episodes too. But after watching the 11th episode, I came back and watched the beginning all over again and it made more sense.
I have watched a lot of bl dramas and this stand out from the rest of them. It definitely has its own flaws but I really loved the way they portrayed he relationship based on feelings. Usually BL dramas simply have sex scenes just to provide fan service which looks pretty odd.
I found Brights acting to be weird only to realise why it was so after the big reveal in episode 11. I went back and watched again and it made so much sense.

Are they going to choose a finalr with everything fantasy like and far from reality like everyone is okay with their relationship.
Or something more realistic where they choose a life of anonimity with sib leaving the industry and gene choosing a new pen name to be together.
