Would this be the first mainstream BL series on Japanese TV? Not my thing, but all power to them. But why do romance dramas so often rely on the tired cliche of having been childhood friends? It could make you think there's no point in trying to meet someone new, and instead waste your time reviewing all your childhood friends and wondering who's it going to be, or more likely, giving up in despair.
A bittersweet story about three people bonding over their dissatisfaction with life and going on impromptu trips…
I'm going to watch it for Zhou Dong Yu too! She's developed into a skilled mature actress. Thank you for your recommendation of the whole movie. The winter setting makes me think of Cliff Walkers and The Golden Era.
I haven't seen this and probably won't get around to it, but have to mention here: Japan is archaic in its laws regarding divorce and custody. One parent gets the child and the other parent usually has no further contact. There is no legal shared custody and guardianship.
We need more GL/WLW representation like this! They're so cute and fluffy (AND HEALTHY)! I think the only thing…
Given that so often in dramas we are seeing women worry about their size/weight etc. this was a marvellous drama about the pure pleasure in eating for women (and by extension, for us all).
Was just watched episode 13, had a smile whole time but the way she baked naan, made me a bit offended as an Indian,…
Japanese people do their own version of all kinds of other country's foods (e.g. "Napoletana") and to us they're a travesty, but they love food like every country does (and our Australian version of curry back in the 70s was make with English curry powder and garnished with sultanas or banana slices). There are authentic ethnic restaurants in Japan and presumably gradually they'll learn how to make naan properly!
I've only just started e13, and am thinking these gentle and polite ladies who love to cook and eat, may be able to help Nagumo through her social phobia re eating, but if not, they'll always encourage her to take some to enjoy at home.

I assumed it was because English was so common in India due to the colonial past, that Indians just used whatever word was most useful, regardless of the language! But I can imagine that people are wanting to preserve the regional languages, although presumably that's not a problem since there are large numbers of speakers.

Looks like you're from India, so you might be aware of: • Mombian • Pankhirya Udi Udi Neither of those seems to have English subs, and are in Hindi and I think some Marathi. They're rather amateurish in their production, but that's OK, they're pioneering important themes. I used AI to make English subs, but it often got confused b/c Indians keep code-switching between Hindi & English! • I Love Us • Four More Shots Please - Umang & Samara Mydramalist doesn't cover south Asia - do you know of any English-language website specializing in Indian dramas?
What are your top 3? The Asian field is considerably limited, so unfortunately that reduces the power of the compliment.…
Thank you - I've seen some, and seen youtube compilations of some. I've been studying Spanish, so have been watching a lot of Spanish movies and dramas. The Hispanohablante world does it well: Amar a muerte (Mexico) - Juliana & Valentina Amar es para siempre (Spain) - Luisita & Amelia Luisita & Amelia's own spin-off series #Luimelia SKAM España - Cris & Joana The Spanish police series Servir y Proteger apparently has more than one Lesbian couple, but especially Lidia & Hanna All of the above have compilations on Youtube I think.
Yes for a moment there I thought the writer was messing with us, like happens in so many romantic dramas, and…
But when they've declared romantic love for each other, and still stand 2m away from each other, and in the elevator look awkwardly in opposite directions, I'm puzzled how they think think that is different than a friendship. But since we no longer have the anticipation of their confessions to keep us watching, maybe now the anticipation will be if they want "skinship" and how they'll sort that out. It's useful that the support character Kaname has realised she's asexual, presumably that's not going to be relevant to either lead character too. Although we already know that nasty stuff has gone on in Kasuga's family of origin. With the two of them living together in that TINY apartment, they're going to bump into each other sooner or later.
