just started, I'm hoping to see some of my favorite scenes live. I'm a bit disappointed in the casting. the male leads donot really fit well. LFY is not masculine or cold/dark enough.

They only thing the drama did to was:
right before he 'cursed' her he said "I will take your power, your _look....."
That was it. one line. No way you would have comprehended the full meaning without reading the novel.

It's become my new habit to watch/rewatch this drama every year. Still Loving it. This year, 2019, I find I appreciate the slower early Mo Yuan period. First time watching it, I wanted the story to pick up, but now I just enjoy watching the sweet early period. And, I'm even more obsessed with Mo Yuan now. LOL

It's easier to understand if you read the novel, because the drama didn't explain it well.

Bai Qi is disguised by magic. She looks and has a different aura in Kulan and as Susu. She's even disguised as male by magic not just clothing alone. The drama doesn't show her disguised appearances so it's harder to understand.

People do not recognize Bai Qi for good reasons, just not explained well in drama.

Yes, but Mark played him so well it feels like Mo Yuan is a different person. I am glad they didn't make it a typical antsy triangle, but I can feel Mo Yuan's pain. *sign*

The translators I know of have removed the translations because they agreed it was plagiarized and is not deserving of recognition. The copy I have is from kindle. You should be able to read it for free if you have amazon prime "To the sky kingdom" by Tang Qi. This novel did retain a little of the boy love of the original pirated work not seen in the drama.

This was how the novel ended. Their wedding appears at the beginning of Pillow, but that novel is about her niece's story.

They're not the same guy. They are twins as Mo Yuan explained.

Watched and rewatched over 4 times already and read english translated novel twice. The addiction is real. I would probably lose my mind if they made a spin off for Mo Yuan. He needs his own story.

The drama exceeds the English translation of this novel. It's a rather short novel. The drama's linear timeline is easier to follow and follows the novel's story line quite well. I usually read the novels to fill in the gap a movie may miss, but it's not the case here. There are plenty of episodes and things get explained quite well. There are some minor changes in the drama that I thought improved from the novel.

I swear, I still hate his guts from Princess Agent. It's hard to transition since he was such a dirt bag to her to now romancing her in a matter of months.

The leads in this drama is pretty darn good. I love them all so count me in!
