The BTS looks like they're having fun so this chemistry should sizzle when it hits our screens. I'm ready for it.

I didn't think I would like this as the premise is a bit lackluster, but I was wrong. I like this director, the coloring, the sound, and the leads have excellent chemistry and that makes up for a more "normal" storyline. There's no particular strong ups and downs, but it's well told. People here feel a little more real, flawed without being overly villainized for drama's sake.
I would say this has the sweetness of sugar without the saccharine and weird taste of artificial sweeteners.

starts ep 21, I have not been able to finish because the story got weird for me. The angst was not well written and 2nd ML just keeps getting creepier. You can let me know when the weird vibe ends so I can watch again

I'm sorry but the relationship with the 2nd male lead is incredibly creepy. I fully expected an enduring and funny loveline for 2nd ML but it was not. The added drama was unnecessary, because May-December relationships have many REAL obstacles without the weird stalker in the mix. I would rather see her friends and brother have more screen time.

From my limited understanding of c-ent: Movie actors have more prestige. Drama actors have more popularity partly because they have more screen time to connect with the audience. A single Chinese drama is equivalent to watching 20+ movies. A young actor like yibo already has 7+ dramas out. Drama actors with more popularity tend to make much more money from endorsements. Fanbase = money. Yibo already has a large fanbase so building prestige in movie will only increase his net worth.

I watched this out of curiosity. I'm an old fan of ZLY and wanted to know why her fans hated yibo's "bad acting" so much. LOL. I really don't understand the complaints about the lack of chemistry. It was not sizzling, but I didn't expect her to heat up the screen right after just be coming a mom and wife.
They were cute enough together. Yibo is an young idol actor. He needs good direction to offset the lack of skills. He performed within my expectations. I am partial to strong female types so I like ZLY portrayal very much. This drama has considerable production and writing issues but I don't think that should blamed on the actors right?

I read somewhere where he said he probably would NOT like his character in real life because he talks too much.

I knew logically that the judges were good looking, but I wasn't hit by it until one of the hotpot session. For no reason whatso ever, a veil was removed and I suddenly saw them and thought "Sh*t, these guys are really really good looking". Just image being so immersed in the show and not realizing how freakn attractive the judges were. I almost revoked my women card. LOL.

I don't think any "reality" show goes unscripted. They need to guarantee profit. The show being popular is good for the dancers so I will continue to support it.
This is the reality we live in. Those hyper girls/guys will spend time and money to support the show/idols in a way normal people with jobs will not. Can't blame producers. I am just glad for the good dancing available. IT is much better than many other shows.

I was really bothered by this too, but I stuck it out because I felt that it was necessary to give the view to the official account so the show can get credit for it. That's the cheapest way to support a show. I rewatched the bad scenes from other accts with music.

She has a very very long history of works. I am pleasantly surprised that most of works have decent/good ratings. Some of my favorite actors pick terrible projects, so she's pretty smart too. 👍👍👍

OMG, I didn't realize this came from this novel. The novel is pretty dawn fun, hope the drama does it justice. I don't see the FL's sense of humor from the trailer so far.

just started, I'm hoping to see some of my favorite scenes live. I'm a bit disappointed in the casting. the male leads donot really fit well. LFY is not masculine or cold/dark enough.

They only thing the drama did to was:
right before he 'cursed' her he said "I will take your power, your _look....."
That was it. one line. No way you would have comprehended the full meaning without reading the novel.

It's become my new habit to watch/rewatch this drama every year. Still Loving it. This year, 2019, I find I appreciate the slower early Mo Yuan period. First time watching it, I wanted the story to pick up, but now I just enjoy watching the sweet early period. And, I'm even more obsessed with Mo Yuan now. LOL

It's easier to understand if you read the novel, because the drama didn't explain it well.

Bai Qi is disguised by magic. She looks and has a different aura in Kulan and as Susu. She's even disguised as male by magic not just clothing alone. The drama doesn't show her disguised appearances so it's harder to understand.

People do not recognize Bai Qi for good reasons, just not explained well in drama.
