Besides, I have no idea how you got the idea that this is a social commentary lol. That way every freakn drama becomes a social commentary in one way or the other. You can name any drama and I'll spin up how it's a social commentary. I don't even know why you people are bringing up sexual relationships out of nowhere. It's like you people are talking to ghosts. I don't even know why you bought up about the ML in hidden love being a teacher. It's like you're off on your own tangent and missing the complete point of the comment
It's not only hidden love that says wait until you're old enoughto have sexual relationship, it's almost every freakn drama. It's like common sense - because the kind of shit show they would stir up if they said otherwise is obvious. Unless, it's a topic covering child abuse or if the drama demands it. I'm kind of annoyed that I actually have to explain all this.

It seems you lack basic comprehension skills seeing as how you've misconstrued my comments and looked at it in a negative light. Perhaps read it a few times and look at it objectively rather than getting your emotions involved and getting butt hurt about it.
In nowhere am I bashing hidden love ( which is apparent to anyone with basic understanding of the english language). I already said it's an exceptional drama and that their interactions can be "misinterpreted easily". Do you understand what those words mean?
Did I watch or judge it? This is such a stupid statement. I gave a a basic gist of their interaction yet somehow you judged it as me reading only the synopsis lol.
Jealous? Lol. Have you interacted with the people in the comments of melancholia, especially those who were bashing it? They did so cause they thought there really was sexual relations or completely misinterpreted it or just read the synopsis like you said. I wanted to bring to light this hypocrisy because most of them apparently saw some forbidden romance there while they saw nothing here. And like I said in my comment, if melancholia can be misjudged for something non existent, hidden love can be too.

Exactly, then you should watch it. You saying there was sexual relations when there weren't any shows that you should perhaps first watch the drama an then comment.
The teacher never showed any romantic feelings at all until they met again after he was 21, I believe.

That's what he did though. Just because he has romantic feelings towards her didn't mean he was disrespectful. He took great care of her, wanted the best for her and respected her boundaries. When she realises he has feelings towards her and asks him to pursue something more productive, he respects her choice and doesn't force anything on her.

It's the same here then - people are taught to respect their elders and not have romantic feelings to someone you consider an elder brother.
However, not only does she have romantic feelings towards an older man but also someone who she says is like her elder brother.

Yup! What this person says is true. The teacher was already asleep lol. The ML took her head and placed it on his shoulder due to his feelings for her. Did you just decide to skip the part where she already felt asleep due to exhaustion?

One trend that I have noticed is that the ones who have criticised this drama were mostly the ones who have a " holier than thou attitude". What's funny is though they were never able to come up with a single legitimate reason as to how this drama represents a student-teacher relationship. It is either a misinterpretation of the drama or simply have not watched the drama and just tooted their horn according to what some other ignorant person has told them. Some have even blocked me and I assume have done the same when they were simply asked to explain and failed to bring up a single case to back their point. An example of this would the thread on @KylieRose_96 which was 7months ago - who I presume has blocked all the people who commented on her thread. The funniest part is it seems like she never watched this drama yet blatantly said this was a student-teacher relationship. Similar to our miss not so goody two shoes in this thread lol.
Now I hold no malice against these people but I do believe that it's important to bring light to such hypocrisy not only here but also IRL.
What's even more unfortunate is that most of them are girls who have rated hidden love high while totally trashed this drama. I can only believe that they are living vicariously through the little girl and wished that some older oppa actually romanced them. See, how easy it is to misrepresent someone's character? Kindly look at things the way the are rather than judge them on some prejuidice. One could easily argue and apply those false logic to hidden love as well and to a much greater extent.
PS : I rated hidden love highly as well, simply because there isn't any relationship between them until way later and watched it simply for the drama it was

While this is an exceptional drama, love the hypocrisy shown by some people who loved this drama while bashing on melancholia. Reason : teacher-student romance when there obvisouly wasn't any lol. It was only the student's one sided love. While here we could easily misinterpret as him flirting with her and leading her on with that flirtatious smile, teasing and excessive care for her, only a handful bought it up. However, the teacher only cared and was excited over finding someone who loved math as much as her and she wanted to bring him out of his shell and have his talent shine. We can see her getting overexcited from the first episode itself where she doesn't know him and was so impressed and overjoyed when he solves her quetion in the group chat. Also, even when she and her bf sees the photo she's impressed and even tells him that the way he views the world is what special. There are so many more instances where she clearly defines why she is so nice towards him and even gets so uncomfortable when she first learns about his feelings towards her which she rejects and immediately asks him to direct it towards something much more productive. In hidden love, the undertone of their chemistry has been throughout so why were the two so harshly judged?

While this drama got preferential treatment in this regards, melancholia got bashed for literally 0 romance between the student and the teacher. Fuinny part is it was by the same people who rated hidden love so highly.

Literally no romance between the teacher and the student during the school years but somehow this got dubbed as a student-teacher romance lol. While hidden love seemed to be every girl's fantasy so it was ok lol.
