fair enough, i see your point about eight years vs. few months -- the abrupt character changes and poor plot (after making us fall in love with the characters with strong writing early on) just reminded me very directly of GoT S8 and so I put it that way...

Making so many characters do a full 180 degree u-turn in 30 mins and completely change their characters is just poor writing -- Crown Prince is suddenly a jealous egomaniac? Jin Mu is suddenly super-genius and has a magical artefact that is too powerful to exist? Bu-Yeon, greatest priest of all time is missing when she's needed the most? And of course, a beloved character becoming a genocidal maniac the minute she hears the "bells". A masterpiece straight from the Game of Thrones school of scriptwriting.

Strongly recommend avoiding this show. What they did with the ending is similar to the scale of Game of Thrones Season 8....
