Trying to be different by giving us a long ending but…
… it became draggy. Coupled with a weak storyline and a love sick male second lead, it was hard to keep my eyes open.
What I appreciated was that this drama didn’t wrap things up with a bang and give us a super short happy ending. Unfortunately, it overcompensated and dragged on the ending for too long. Although this drama also showed the FL dabbling in business, thankfully, it didn’t show her as being super savvy and overcoming lots of sabotages etc that many dramas of late seem to have as its theme. I love the 2 grandmothers. I also enjoyed the detailed wedding ceremony.
The ML is so similar to his character in Lost You Forever in the way he carries himself and speaks etc so I had a hard time wrapping my head around his character who manages to be rich enough to account for half the city’s wealth all while growing up in a family that doesn’t acknowledge him. It was already a stretch believing he was so driven that he excelled in his studies and martial arts but to also believe he was able to this genius businessperson in just a span of a few years is beyond unreal.
As for the FL, I was constantly distracted by her make up around her eyes and her voice. And I find it so hard to believe that as a person in love, she would so easily listen to a stranger and think that the second male lead wanted her dead. My heart goes out to the second male lead for being so devoted but it pained me more to see how he couldn’t move on and ended up being a love sick fool.
As for the whole idea of the FL and ML turning from siblings to lovers… I am not sold on this idea. From his perspective, he knew they weren’t related by blood so let his feelings grow. From her perspective, she felt her heart flutter when she first found out that there were siblings… so she had loved him while thinking he was her brother? Hmmm…
