productions of this scale ain’t cheap. worth the tiny intrusion for such grandiose cinematography and locations.
Honestly, every time they started talking about it, I just skipped it. There's never anything worth watching when they're running the cringe ad for their sponsors, just skip ahead.
8 stars because I did, after all, quite enjoy watching it.
Unfortunately, the writing was lacking and no amount of acting would fix that. Ava deserved better than to be used as a prop and discarded when no longer needed for the plot, Ramil and Paytai's storyline was messy and inconsistent. Calvin and Jay were an afterthought, at most. I think the biggest problem was, they couldn't decide what genre the show was, so it just ended up being all over the place. Romance absolutely could have coexisted with a political commentary, but later episodes were full of comedy that didn't necessarily fit in there. The finale just wasn't it, even if everything that happened was right. Sometimes, I think it dragged too much and the time would have served better if they spent it on all the side stories.
I do have to say, the budget shows. In a good way. No cringe-worthy CGI, no awful beaut-up-look make-up (honestly, if I never see the ever popular super unrealistic bruising around the mouth ever again, it will be too soon). The costumes were fantastic, most of the locations felt new and exciting. I genuinely hope the next show to get a budget this big gets more consistent writing because at the end of the day, that's the one problem with this series.
I'm really trying to give it a chance, but so far I'm really not impressed. A remake is always different, but this just feels like an off-brand product that tries to be exactly the same, which really doesn't work...
most of the bl from earlier years had messed up storylines.. glad that they are slowly changing bl storylines…
I feel like where acting got much better, the writing is still lagging behind. A complex storyline needs a good writer, lest they just end up sweeping everything under a rug...
In all honestly, this show is mostly only worth watching if you're in it for the actors. I feel like the beginning was a decent start to a good drama about complex issues, Mark's general ick about the situation was initially well-written and acted out....and then the quality steadily declined with each episode. The double standarts when it comes to Vee and Ploy were just icing on the very mediocre cake. Could have been good, was not.
I really hope the Ryan character improves because he is annoying as hell. I get the “fish out of water” trope…
To be fair, I was WAY worse my first week at current job (which I also kinda got on an accident), literally couldn't pick up a phone, ate lunch alone in the changing room, had several panic attacks a day. I'm sure I was way more annoying than Ryan at the time XD
So, apparently rating is so low, because Gun kissed Tay on live and toxic fans are lowering rating for this show.…
As if anyone wouldn't kiss Tay if they could lol. I'm a lesbian and I'd kiss him if I could. Those people need better friend groups if they think that kiss was weird...
I haven't watched it, didn't rated it,o don't even know any of the dramas between the fandom but maybe people…
Giving a comedy awful reviews because I wanted to watch a drama is still quite stupid, not gonna lie. I love Not me, it lives rent free in my head, but I am not so out of touch to whine that a lighthearted romantic comedy ain't the same. People really ought to realize there's more to life than a favourite show and also that unfortunately, live goes on.
i learned that bl-series fans can be worse than star wars fans.... and hell, star wars fans can be toxic as eff!…
You can tell those people clearly lack friends to kiss. God forbid their faves had lives of their own! Anyone still salty about that needs to touch some grass and maybe spend some time Outside™
This show is getting review bombed, otherwise I can't explain the low score (are people with no lives, friends and romantic prospects still salty about the kiss? get a life, seriously). It's fun and I enjoy that they are trying to give OffGun more mature storylines.
:-) That's why I tend to avoid medical dramas of all kinds. I'm probably missing out on some good ones, but I…
In my case, it's more of a "this is so inaccurate it makes me wanna cry" (still watched Triage and managed to ignore everything problematique, hah), but I totally get that, many people have trouble watching this type of stuff. I even have a hard time watching things that I don't mind IRL, it's kinda weird. I find when you get squicked like that, it's a good idea to watch with someone who's already seen the show and can help you skip the scenes that would be the worst for you :-)
this could have been such a good show if they knew what to do with the story. can't remember the last time I found literally ALL the characters actively annoying. everybody was unnecessarily mean to each other, the dialogue dragged (whoever thought the long pauses were a good idea...meet me in the lidl parking lot. to talk.), as did the will they/won't they. all their intimate scene were quite cringe, for which I will mostly blame writing and editing. I did watch it all the way to the end, though only because I was bored and my friend was also hate-watching. I'll give them some merit for a story about characters who are working adults (albeit clearly living above their means) and the fact most of the actors really tried to do their best with what they were given. in all, an okay show to binge and waste an afternoon with something easy and fluffy, but I wouldn't exactly recommend it.
So we got Ken crying for 10 episodes just to see him being all alone and looking defeated and sad at the end?…
it's not a happy ending, but it absolutely was a hopeful ending. 7th day of the 7th month? that honestly reads the same all those hints about who Lue is we got during the whole show about what happened. Ken is coming back to Bangkok, their special date was mentioned, it's a year later thus enough time for Din to work on his appearance...how does that not sound hopeful?
