Why amnesia saved Fu Yi Xiao's life...

This was a very strange drama but extremely entertaining and amazing chemistry between the leads. I'm easily frustrated with amnesia arcs but it was actually necessary for the story here. Fu Yi Xiao's amnesia saved her life. It saved her the trouble of killing her feelings for her toxic ex and allowed her to fall in love with Feng Sui Ge without the barriers of those past feelings.

Fu Yi Xiao was an incredible FL. One of my favorites from last year. She was beautiful, intelligent and highly skilled. I loved her no BS attitude and it carried into her love life too. There were no silly miscommunications or prideful games played between these two. Even though he was a man, Feng Sui Ge was actually the less experienced one in the relationship. His moments of innocence and vulnerability when he was with Fu Yi Xiao were really sweet to watch. Feng Sui Ge was a solid male lead as well. Chen Zhe Yuan's chemistry with Li Qin is undeniable. In the beginning they were borderline masochists but that oddly added to their compatibility. But as they fell in love it was their respect for each other and their devotion that made them so great together. They are both amazing people individually, but together they were one of my favorite power couples of 2025.

For most of the show I found it weird and unrealistic that Fu Yi Xiao would abandon her country so easily. But the more we learned about how terrible of a place Jinxu is, her being so unpatriotic made sense...

Xia Jing Shi was a mysterious and complex character who had me at the edge of my seat this whole drama. I knew he was a villain, and I did not want him to succeed in his plans, but the suspense had me so hyped! Until the day came and his actual attempted coup was very underwhelming and rushed after all of that build up. I wasn't surprised that he never fell in love with the princess of Susha and still wanted Fu Yi Xiao. I mean, what man could get over Fu Yi Xiao?? What I didn't love is that Feng Sui Ge was the one that got to kill Xia Jing Shi. I felt like that kill belonged to Fu Yi Xiao. Xia Jing Shi lied to her and stole her whole life from her. Yes, Xia Jing Shi did stab Sui Ge's little sister, but she was in that situation because of her own decisions.

I have so many gripes with the princess and the Xia brothers but I was totally engrossed in their arc. I know a lot of people hated Feng Xi Yang because she was a desperate fool in the beginning. But I understood her being young, spoiled and rebellious. She saw a handsome savior with a cute face and beautiful hair and fell in love. Bonus, he's a prince! But once it became clear that there was no way he would ever be interested, she pressed the issue too many times and I lost respect for her. Then she gets with his murderous tyrant of a brother out of spite. At this point I just pitied her because she had finally realized her mistakes but it was too late and she had clearly entered a period of self loathing. Both of the Xia brothers were rotten people. So I couldn't vote for either of their happy endings. But they were both SO entertaining.

Overall, this drama was a lot better than I expected it to be. My rating would probably be even higher if they didn't give Feng Sui Ge that random and useless amnesia arc and then rushed the ending. Also the OST was awful. I could handle Sa Ding Ding in Moonlight Mystique but here it felt like the BGM and the soundtracks were attacking almost every scene.
