i feel even sadder after watching the concert. not feeling relieved at all. the concert's like officially announcing the end of this story, the diverged paths of wenzhou or junzhe. i feel abandoned by this wuxia world, which i once witnessed and lived in, yet there's nothing i can do about it. ;-;

i don't see any xianxia elements in woh, even the immorality thing is a totally different concept from the ones in xianxia. i think woh is pure wuxia. but at the same time, i don't get why it's classified as new wuxia either (i've seen someone mentioned this but i forgot where it was), is there a definition for new wuxia?

well, they were not on a journey of seeking forgiveness, or i think the only person they wanted forgiveness from was cheng ling. what zzs's pursuing was just freedom and for wkx it's revenge. clearly they've long accepted the fate that they would go to hell after death if you remember their conversation in ep13.

actually there're lots of 'anti-trope' (not necessarily wuxia though) details as well, like, every time a-xu received food from others, everyone would expect him passing the food to chengling, but every time he just wouldn't lol!!

i heard that the douban rating has been locked since ep12, so it's been 8.6 for a long while, and the rating might be dropping below 8.6 once it's unlocked. if this is true then i guess MDL is still generous this time

I think it’s a happy ending for Scorpion King & Zhao Jing too. At least this is the best and reasonable ending I can think of for these two, villains buried together in snow forever and ever

Chill out lol. As someone has explained in some comments below, sometimes it's just a way of addressing one's partner in Chinese, and it's not like they are blood-related anyway. I actually want to watch that foster father/son drama (called Sha Po Lang/Winner is King) because the 2 actors are really cute! And there's only an about 6/7-year age gap between them in the novel as I heard it. Oh, iirc, there's a very very famous wuxia novel/drama by Jin Yong called Condor Heroes, the ML always addresses the FL by 'aunt' because she teaches him Kung Fu, not sure why though, but they're more like master/disciple rather than aunt/nephew lol

GJ is the most handsome one! But ZZH... tbh I don't find ZZH handsome, but he is the most attractive one to me, just like how ZZS's attractive to WKX, by his look? no, definitely not...it's the things underneath that i don't know how to describe.
