I'm pissed that they cut the main couple's scene in ep 4. It's their first deep conversation and an important scene to show how Chen Qian starts feeling attracted to Chunyang.

However, the only thing that disappoints me about Japanese invasion drama is NONE of the Japanese actually speak Japanese! Even MoA3 is way better although the Japanese dubbing is annoying. The only thing showing they are Japanese is the house and kimono. Lol
Chen Qian works at the military along with the others. He is famous for being a hero. Currently doing an undercover mission taking his old friend from school, Asai Mitsuo's identity to sneak into Ida's house. Somehow he is already attracted to Chun Yang after their first meeting.
Chun Yang is from the communist party. She's so busy crossdressing, teaching and sneaking. I like her bonds with Yukako. And seems like Yukako wants to hook up Chun Yang with Ida???? 🤦♀️
Ida Yuutarou is more dangerous than his twin, Yuujirou. He is smart, calculative, and doesn't believe anyone easily. As Yukako's uncle, he is strict and protective.
Xie Dongtian is the cruel, ruthless, cold, scheming and has his own agenda. He is disrespectful and seems envious of Chen Qian.
Wu Ruonan is also from the military. She comes from a prestigious family, but she hates her father. She quickly takes a liking to Chen Qian.
Guan Yongshan is odd. He seems laid back, my pace, and always smiles. Who knows what's underneath?
Qiu Yingxia is stoic, strict, cares nothing but her missions. She believes in her own judgment, and actually a good person.
The calendar poster is out! It airs 2 eps on Monday to Thursday, 1 eps on friday and saturday. It's nice that after the drama ends for vip users, they will air 2 episodes each day on mgtv 👍🏻

Idk why kdrama about students mostly have bully. Even in family drama, I've seen a lot of elders beating the kids. It made me think that is their culture? Youth J-dramas don't have that. They mostly about growing up and falling in love. I was verbally bullied too, so I really hate to see it in drama.

As much as I enjoyed this drama, I still feel 24 eps is too short. It should be 30 eps. Here's my reasons:
1. The incident 10 years ago didn't get fully explained. They give us pieces of puzzle and we need to put them together. It would've been better if they showed a full flashback including how Yuansu saved Yun Han. Might need one full ep for it.
2. The villain wasn't convincing that he is the antagonist. His reasons isn't strong enough to justify it, especially since he only appeared at the last few episodes. He just showed up and left.
3. There is more than what they showed us about He Yuanting. He isn't exactly the villain, more like a pawn who feels heartbroken and has no choice but to do evil deeds bcos he was told to, similar to Yun Han. I would like to see the situation of Jinpo royal family bcos clearly he cares about the citizens, but never mentioned he loves his family.

The main couple started doubting each other and tried to outwit each other. But bcs they already knew the other party is pretending, they quickly become partners. There is no misunderstanding, or break up. Only slight jealousy. The SML likes the FL, but it doesn't interfere the main couple at all. Although they don't officially confess until ep 19, but the amount of flirting is a lot. And of course it's a HE! It is a very lighthearted, romcom drama.
Actually I feel bad for He Yuanting. Even though he is the second prince, it's just a title. He is the underdog, disposable pawn. I don't think he ever feels happy, except once when he was with Liuli in Qinghan. Perhaps the only thing he wants is to be acknowledged and loved. He loves Liuli, but bcos they are enemies, he must put his country first. If only they weren't enemies, they would be best friends.
