For those who have watched Blossoms and hope to see a sweet, mature, romantic couple, THROW AWAY those hope!
Their story spans for 10 years, from their first meeting to the end. It tells about their ups and downs, just like any real life couples. This is due to the difference in values, principles and the future they are aiming for.
People might not like Mu Wanyao at first, but please LEARN about her past first before hating her.
Mu Wanyao isn't just a princess. She is a survivor.
This is not a reborn drama. So imagine how she managed to stand up again after those years of nightmares and why her personality changed so much.
It's that mu wanyao character/personality same like shen xihe from blossom of power?
Mu Wanyao is: flirtatious, arrogant, stubborn, has bad temper, domineering. She is a princess. A survivor. She is greedy for power. She gets angry easily. She is full of thorns, but also fragile. She is high up in the sky, but actually lonely.
i read it more as he was the light in her dark life. and she was the chaos in his rather normal life. we had shameless…
Yes! In the novel he keeps describing that Yaoyao is the vibrant colors in his dull life, she gives colors to his grey world. She makes him feel like a normal person who is allowed to relax and show emotions.
While Yan Shang's kindness opens up and heals her wounded heart and trauma. He is the best person ever appeared in her life.
I really hope they bring a different kind of chemistry this time around, rather than repeating similar dynamic…
Meng Ziyi has been a very good actress, her peers and people in drama industry praised her acting, even haters in mainland don't attack her acting. Her ONLY characters that are similar are Shen Xihe and Shen Miao. Other than those two, her previous characters are all different.
Not to start anything, I'm actually very interested in this drama and the couple but people allowed to voice their…
Yes we are allowed to voice our opinions or criticism, but not straight up hate. Haters keep coming and saying the same things over and over. If you don't like one actor's acting or visual, why keep coming to his/her drama and page just to say "He is so bad in acting", "Her eyes are too big." That's not opinions, but hate.
I don't know this drama that well. But after watching the trailers and reading about it I keep thinking this drama…
Oh I didn't know that. Perhaps the scriptwriter had the same idea, but elaborated it in different way. The scholar in The Double is married and is forced to kill his wife. TSTR doesn't have that. The FL is actually afraid of commitment due to her tragic past. The story is about their ups and downs, growing together as a couple and individually.
One more thing. Princess Zhaoyang (Li Hongyi, Kong Xueer) is based on the novel Princess Pingyang, in which I felt is similar with TSTR source novel. The differences are the FL is still married and loved her husband, and it started with enemies to lovers troupe.
"tigers sniff the rose" is originally based on Siegfried Sassoon's poet which describes "a powerful individual who also possesses a delicate side". The poet is translated to Chinese as "there is a fierce tiger in my heart carefully sniffing a rose" which symbolizes having both power and gentleness within one's nature. This title actually portrays both FL and ML perfectly. Both have fierce and gentle sides in them.

Global audience keep saying Meng Ziyi plays the same roles in all her drama. Did they even watch and understand her characters? Did they even watch her drama before Blossoms? They knew her from Blossoms, then they watched either TPG or BOP with their eyes closed and said "Look! Meng Ziyi is playing the same role again!" People who actually watched at least these 3 drama will understand that Dou Zhao, Jiang Taohua and Shen Xihe all have different personalities. Add Lei Chun, Qingmu Yuan, Hua Liuli, Mei Chaofeng, Fu Yuzhan.
Now Mu Wanyao is coming. She is also different from MZY's previous and upcoming roles. Mu Wanyao is a TRAGIC character, more than Lei Chun and Jiang Taohua, but her love life is better than those two. At least Mu Wanyao is loved wholeheartedly by Yan Shang. Yan Shang adores and spoils her to the bones.
People might not like Mu Wanyao at first, but once you know her past (the novel is more detailed), you'll understand why she changed so much and became the way she is now. That's also why Wanyao falls for Yan Shang. She is hungry for his kindness and attention.
If they dared to change the ending, people will riot. The novel ending is so good. Even the novel prolog already spilled what kind of ending the story has.
guys can anyone tell has they changed something from the novel...like her first marriage was it a real trauma…
She was sent to Wuman to marry the king in which she was humiliated, assaulted and tortured. There was the miscarriage scene as well.
They changed some things: 1. Yang Si is in love with Wanyao. 2. Wanyao is sent to marry Meng Zaishi, in which during the processions, he died. 3. Wanyao goes to war and becomes somewhat general.
There might be some other small changes. Let's see 🤔
“What is this title? Tiger Sniffs the Rose? Don’t get me wrong, but how am I supposed to take this seriously?…

-don't be too detailed!
Hence, the generic summary for every drama.
You have to watch it to know if it's to your liking.
