I watched this in theaters and honestly it wasn't worth it. The storytelling was not fluid and the same scenes were replayed and overused. Also what's up with the rewind section at the ending? I think it would have been a more enjoyable watch if the scenes were in chronological order instead of the past being shown as flashbacks with narration. Overall very disappointed and not recommended especially for those who haven't read the book or watched the drama.
This drama is very sweet and fluffy. I loved how there was no miscommunication between the main leads, instead they support and defend each other. The comedy was pretty good too; a few of my favorite scenes were the emperor refusing to let Shen Yong leave the palace in order to learn how to role dice and Shen Yong praying for a daughter instead of a son. Although there were cliches like being a substitute bride, Shen Yong and the in-laws weren't kept in the dark for long and there was no misunderstanding because of it. I recommend this drama for anyone looking for a light drama but do watch after you have eaten or have some snacks around as there so so much yummy looking food in each episode!
