This isnt a romance drama, the romance isnt going to be a main focus but we'll see glimpses of them in between everything else, also the guns come into play later from what i can remember, they dont really affect the earth fiends which is why they dont use them yet; only a select few including fl can actually kill an earth fiend and not just injure

My only complaint about this (as someone has mentioned below) is that the directing seems a bit draggy, whether its for cinematic effect idk but there are scenes that feel a bit drawn out and could have ended earlier than they did. Asides from that im really enjoying it, i did not watch todays episodes so i could have 4 eps to binge tomorrow 🤣

As someone who read the novel, i feel like a lot (not all) of what people are questioning and classifying as plot holes are really just things that are going to get addressed later in the story (or have already been addressed and were not paid attention to). Like can we be a bit patient 😭

It makes sense because its said that no earth fiends have been spotted in 20 years, most of the fighters now were too young to go into combat so literally none of them except the older generation have even seen an earth fiend before; and of the older generation not many remain, so its not really surprising that they got whooped in the first fight if they dont even know the strength of their enemy

Lin ling was also adopted by Ms Lin, i actually cant remember the exact reason but its somewhat of a significant plot point so maybe someone else who read the novel can respond.

Also yes the locust is Ms Lin's child

edit: aha i somewhat remember about Lin ling, for the earth fiends to maintain human appearances, they need blood sacs which are basically other humans to feed from, she adopted lin ling as a reserve blood sac because she is from a certain bloodline (that i cant really remember either sorry 😭)

This is barely 10 chapters into the novel, there's really not too much action at this point, the good guys are weak because most of the fighters are the younger generation who have not encountered an earth fiend before, the warriors became complacent because they hadnt showed up for years. i get what you mean, to me the makeup is fine except when she's in nightclothes because that doesnt make sense, but honestly her having a full face is pretty accurate to njl of the novel 🤣she was very cold and aloof an acted like an heiress lol
