Agreed fully. But honestly i feel cao si has some fault too. Not in the actual fight and eveyrthing else rather indirectly. Like sure she rejected zhou xuan yu but she didnt do it properly, it was all vague. She shouldve told him she has absolutely no feelings for him and will never develop them either. She would be with any guy but not be with him. Even when he kept pestering her she runs away instead of facing him face on. She shouldve told him he has absolutely no right to pursue her as he kept saying he has the right since they aren't married. Aghhh its so frustrating toh i feel bad for qi shi in all this, even the parents seem like they care more about cao xin instead of her

You've all got reasonable points. But in my opinion if u think about it papa cao had already risked his life helping papa qi so they had that debt between them and considering the drama is set in the 1980s where families preferred a son to carry on their name it seemed evident that they exchanged the two kids. So that the cao families name is carried forward besides the Qis were also hoping for a daughter so it worked for them.
And ig papa cao also agreed becuz qi shi had disease which needed constant care and youve gotta be meticulous in taking care of her which he probably thought a mom would do it better than him as he is mostly at his work place.
It doesnt change the fact that the siblings are the one's suffering toh but anyways a good drama with good plot!😁
