Janghyun is not a prince. In his childhood flashbacks he wears a noble boy's clothes not a prince's clothes. He's probably the son of Jang Cheol(the head of the function Yeonjun joined)

Ohh yeah now everything make sense. I think you need therapy tho. I have seen other mens opinion about the drama and they definitely don't think Wonmu is a good and decent man...That man became an 6th rank military officer by saving the son of the crown prince(which Gilchae did) and by killing the 17 intruders(which Janghyun did) ha he was even heavily praised for it what a joke.. and he can't even fight.. he was able to kill the last person only because he was injured by Janghyun. And not only that but also the fact that he didn't go right after the women to inform them that they're going into a trap. He waited. And if it wasn't for Janghyun he would probably abandon them there. He also did tons of other despicable things later but i will not mention them bc you will still not understand.
Ep 16 was a perfect episode to understand his character if you didn't before. He abandoned her in Simyang, got another wife and even impregnated her, lied to her family and friends that he would saved Gilchae later. After all these things he still could act like a kind and good person to Gilchae when she returned.. That's who he is. He was always like that hence why he looked like a 'decent' man. If you still think you are like him then there is a huge problem with you i guess

No i'm trying to explain to you that she didn't cheat(which i wouldn't care less if she would atp tbh). You are the one trying to defend that loser husband for days now and everyone trying to explain to you that you are wrong and you still can't understand why. It's sad. You don't even try to see Gilchae's pov... well the liar husband is more important i guess.

Omg what proof does she need? Actually this is not even about proof. Both her husband and Janghyun knew about her being abducted(mind you her husband knew months before Janghyun). When Janghyun, the man she cruelly reject, who has less power in his hands and would face a greater risk, even though they hit him on the head and even though they didn't want to sell her, did everything to get her out of that place while her 'husband' who shared the same bed with her for 2 years, has more power in his hands as a military officer, just came and left without even showing his goddamn face to her, then what proof does she need? If he WANTED he would. He didn't. And she knows that

People think there will be a time skip after he comes back permanently this time. In the preview she craves rice cakes with beans which apparently is something women in joseon craved during pregnancy. Idk if it's true tho but thats how the theory started from kfans

I don't think there is a way she didn't consummate her marriage. In her wedding night she told him she will become a good wife and they were married for 2 years. I think when they say chastity it doesn't matter if the woman was a virgin or not, the moment an inruder(or someone who is not her husband) touch her she automatically loses her chastity...
For example, when officer Gu was on his way to Simyang and met those who tried to steal his money, the man there told him that his wife would have already lost her chastity. He obviously wouldn't assume that his wife is a virgin

They never told us their ages. 23 seems younger than i thought too since i thought he was around 25-26 but it's not impossible. For me in the scenes with Ryang Eum he was probably a teenager around 15-16 (as this actor usually plays teenager characters and also looked young). He may have gained the knowledge he had while living with Yang chun, or he may have had some even before he met him. It's not impossible. Also the previous war was 9 years before the beginning of the story which means he was 14. This age seems enough for him to remember the war and to have gained experience.
And besides these i'm talking about a real person that existed in that time. Of course they are only inspired by him but there is no need to change his age if it's suitable for the story.

I saw some kfans saying that Lee Janghyun's characters is inspired by a real person called Jang Hyun who was interpreter in Simyang and was really a spy during the war. Based on his age Lee Janghyun was 23 in the beginning. And fans are speculating that Gilchae was around 17-20(as she was near marriageable age ). 5 years have passed since ep1 so Janghyun is probably 28 and Gilchae is 22-25

Exactly. Idk why people are defending him he was a coward walking reg flag since the beginning. I guess they desperatly try to find a reason to hate on Gilchae

i think it was even before lol When he became a military officer by claiming that he killed the 17 soldiers (stealing the spotlight from Janghyun) and saving the crown prince's son (stealing the spotlight from Gilchae). And he can't even fight he's so embarassing omg

she knows her husband abandoned her so i wouldn't even consider it as cheating at this point. She can do whatever she wants and that "husband" can rot in hell

I don't think Ryang Eum would do that. I'm almost 100% sure her husband send someone to kill her instead of bringing her back. And the man who was strangling Gilchae in the trailer is probably him

she promised him after she ran away and came back with her own will, indicating that something like this will never happen. But even after 2 YEARS of marriage he never trusted her. Everyone around her knew she wouldn't do something like this but the man she shares a bed with didn't and even didn't care about her safety as much as his pride

I mean that was probably his initial plan. Not until he found out she had feelings for him too. So he didn't want to lose her. He is not flawless or perfect. In the end of the day he's still a human being and was driven by his emotions. And so was she when she decided to run away with him in the first place. So i can't understand why someone would be disappointent by the characters acting like humans
