I don't get all the hate on here. This show is a great step up for this pair because I actually liked them in FUTS even though I didn't love the show. Pond is killing it in this genre, I think drama really suits him. I personally don't dislike Phuwin's acting like some people, but I agree with wanting to see him play something different. I find exploration of young love done so interestingly in this show and I'm excited to see where it goes!

I like Yoon Shi Yoon. I was really excited for a minute, hoping this was just a weird translation for the title…
it's incredible. if you like strong female characters, complex friendship dynamics and lots of drinking then you will like this show. it's a lot more heartwarming than the name suggests and it's impossible not to fall for the 3 main characters

sigh.... how are you watching this relationship develop with mature communication and mutual respect and not understanding…
that’s literally not what I said. its not unfounded but yall like to act like 19 year olds are full adults when they’re not. keep making excuses for your backwards romance standards its ok bestie

My question was more about the choice of promo and title of the show. Why would they not do promo of them showing the type of show it is? Im just saying I would've never started the show bc of the misleading promo.

Am I not allowed to be dissapointed with the direction the show has gone in? I enjoyed the first episode when Yijin said high schoolers and adult shouldn't be in the same place, but then he turns around and is everywhere a high schooler is.

I'm just wondering why the drama wanted so many scenes of her in her uniform and him in his suit. I'm just saying visually they are sending a message to the youth. It's concerning to me that other high schoolers will see this and romanticize having an older male friend. And most men are not like YJ, so that is also a major concern of mine.

Also YJ is not allowing HD to make any type of connection with boys her own age because he is literally in her life 24/7. I'm just saying if a single day passed where he wasn't all in HD business I would get it but his entire life revolves around her. Literally he works all day on a documentary about her and then he plucks her from school and takes her on mini vacations? If I'd ever gone on a sleep away trip with a 23 yr old man at 19 my mother would've locked me in my room for a decade. It's just not believable to me at all.

I dont think you understand how predatory someone can be without ever laying a hand on someone FOR YEARS. Maybe I've just experienced too much in life to see this as something wholesome and innocent especially when the show is framing them in romantic ways, the fans of the show already ship them, and they are leading into a romance. It doesnt matter if they never even hold hands when she's a teen, it feels like YJ is just waiting for her to turn of age and that's what I have a problem with. If their relationship was simply platonic I would'nt have a problem, but everyone saying we're not meant to see them as romantic are just kidding themselves when the drama has done the running in the rain scenes, slow hug, slow pull, etc typical indicators of romance. And that was all meant to be platonic?? Yall also make excuses for the show when the very show isn't even trying to excuse anything

I was fine with their relationship at the beginning when there were boundaries and they just wanted to bring each other happiness. But now it feels like YJ's only source of happiness is HD and that in itself is toxic for a young girl to be responsible for a man's emotional wellbeing. If YJ had a single friend his age, it would lessen the creep factor for me. But alas, we won't agree, and I will continue to watch and criticize the show bc Kim Taeri is my favorite actress and I find only with Kdramas do people need an all or nothing mentality. We can criticize the media we consume yall, it's not a sin.

Well to my understanding the drama got its inspiration from the song 2521 so if that was the case why name it…
you missed the point of my comment entirely. I had no idea about the song, so I guess that makes sense for the title. But have you ever seen promo for a drama where the promo is about the last 4 episodes? I'm just genuinely curious why as to why they would do that? Am I the only person who finds that odd????

Title Twenty Five Twenty One Spoiler
Does anyone feel like they named this drama in a misleading way on purpose? It doesn't even matter if they fall in love at this point when they're 2521, the show should be called 2319 but of course they would've never named it that. I personally would've never watched it had they named it that but when 12/16 episodes are about her at 19, how is it okay for them to name it something it isn't? Even the promos on Netflix showed them AS ADULTS.

I think yall have let your attraction to Nam Joo Hyuk affect the way you see the show. I mostly watch it for Kim Taeri's phenomenal acting, but I can't get past feeling like the creators of the show purposefully lied to promote this type of relationship.

So many people say their relationship isn't romantic but tell me YJ doesn't act like her bf? He takes her on dates, literally found a job that allows him to be around her more, goes to her school after hours, hangs out with her and her HIGH SCHOOL friends, acts protective and authoritative around other adults when it comes to her, and just generally crosses the line over and over again in terms of what's ok for an adult to do with a teenager. I'm not saying a friendship with an age gap is wrong, but this drama is obviously pushing a romantic narrative and framing romantic scenes between a girl in her uniform and a man in a suit.

The people trying to justify it by saying 19-23 yr olds date in college. Yes, when they're both in college. Not to mention a high schooler in Korea is definitely not as emotionally mature as a 23 yr old who's had to start working to support his family. Especially after what HD said this episode about feeling mentally 13. You're telling me YJ loves her 13 yr old brain??? How are you guys still rooting for them to date in the future?

If the producers saw nothing wrong with it, wouldn't they name it what it is? Wouldn't the promos be mostly of her in highschool?
