A Realistic Romance Story
Since people are used to watching happy-ever-after and happy-for-now rom-com dramas, many people don't understand (hate) the story of this series.I will write something very simple in my review today - this is one of the most realistic romance kdramas I've ever watched.
It tells a story that shows the harsh reality of ROMANCE in the real world. The title of this show is exactly what it should have been titled - The Interest of Love.
Love, alone, many times is never enough and that's a very harsh reality many people don't want to acknowledge.
In a capitalist world, capitalism seeps into even the most intimate parts of society and how it does that is what this story carefully reveals.
I won't write any more than I've written, but if you want to watch a realistic romance kdrama, then this is the one.

Second Couple Carried The Show…
I don’t know about anyone else but the side couple are the only reason I’ll say this drama is ACTUALLY worth watching.Wait, do I even call them the “side couple” when episode 1 - 6 was basically about them???
They are the ROMANCE in this show, and their CHEMISTRY??? INSANELY GOOD. Their acting was amazing too!
Now as for Shine’s storyline, umm, can I be honest? It’s supposed to be a capitalism critique but it’s not a successful one.
The plot and the revolutionary movements felt too childish and hard to comprehend, but I understand Thai BLs are never “perfect.”
You can tell this is supposed to be an “unconventional deep political romance story that will criticize capitalism” but it didn’t resonate like that with me. The storyline is just …meh?? And the attempt to make it very philosophical just didn’t really get to me.
HOWEVER, it’s not in any way a bad watch. I enjoyed watching it but the rewatch value is not high.

Stoic Lawyer Falls for a Happy-go-Lucky Man…
I watched this and enjoyed it. There’s nothing about this story that I did not like.Personally, the plot just has everything I like in a BL show and the story is well written too.
Events tie together nicely; and the men know how to love each other.
This is a BL show well done.
Contemplating watching it? You should!

Beautiful Chaos
You know what? I still can’t believe how much I like this movie.Backstory: I had thrown this show in my “never to watch” BL list. (Yes, I have a list like that haha) Why? Well, cos I read the synopsis and thought “Infidelity? Hell no.” And on that note, let me just say, the synopsis isn’t really doing the movie justice. There’s more to this movie than you’ll read in the “about.”
Now, yeah I know it’s a manga adaptation and as someone who hasn’t read the manga and only watched the show… I love it.
Someone is probably thinking, “So, how did you end up watching this when you swore never to watch it?” Good thinking… it was on a Thursday evening when I had nothing else to watch and I was bored out of my mind , then I revisited my NTW list; this was the first show on the list.
And that was how I started it.
Let me just add that the title “The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese” is metaphorical. And this story is a metaphor that touches various sensitive themes.
Many people would interpret this story differently but what the story is to me is about a man who is inherently gay but unaware about his own orientation (hence never found satisfaction with women and always chooses infidelity) this man meets another man who is openly gay, and the openly gay man helps him figure out his romantic and sexual orientation.
And for the first time, the man who is gay and unaware found a reason to love and stay committed but he found it in another man.
TCMDOC has made it to my “Best JBL movies” list and found its place in my top 3.
If you’re like me and you’ve written this movie off, please watch it.

Demiromanticism, Slow Burn, and Unique Law Cases
I’ll start with a summary of what I’m about to write: this is nothing short of a good show. Now the longer version…
I didn’t want to watch this show; I remembered when I started it, I was just lazily scrolling through Netflix looking for shows to watch and thinking “nahhh not this one” Then, I decided: “You know what? Let’s just see what it’s about…” And that was it!
First episode, second, third, I was hooked! I won’t say much to keep this spoiler free but it’s everything a 2025 legal kdrama should be.
I like how unconventional the legal cases were and the law office politics/dynamics.
Umm, okay for those who clicked because of the heading, no it’s not clickbait and this is what I mean.
Demiromanticism and slow burn romance are two thematic elements that stood out in this drama. Love how the romance between the side characters was carefully built and happened after years of knowing each other.
As a demiromantic person who can’t experience any form of love unless I’ve formed a strong emotional connection with the other person, I liked this about the drama!
If you love legal dramas, please do not sleep on this one!!!

Not a Bad Watch But Not The Best Watch…
I’m not going to say too much to keep this spoiler-free but this wasn’t a bad watch and it was not AMAZING or anything either. The beginning started really strong but the last few episodes were not as great.
As for the storyline, I like some of the themes in the story, especially the one about healing past traumas, but what I didn't like is the type of “love story” this series portrayed.
Now this is just about me (for context I’m demi-romantic) if you're also like me, then you'll get this, if you're not, then you won't. But I have never been a fan of love stories like the one in this series.
Okay, here’s what I mean.
I struggle to understand how someone can love another person for a long time, and then their heart would shift to love someone else within a short span of time.
Usually, I'm not one to watch (and like) dramas with this type of storyline, but I don't hate this one, not for the plot but for the cast and good acting.
Also, the side-couples’ love story is vague and if anyone can, please tell me why Hiro likes Dr Irene??? I still fail to understand their love.
Anyways, after all that has been said, this is not a terrible watch in any way. If you want to watch something light-hearted, simple (also Han Hyo Joo speaking Japanese haha) then you must watch this one!
Rewatch value? Umm… zero.

Romance That Happens in a Small Town + Beautiful Beach Scenery
The heading is not even spoiler but why do I feel like it is? Haha!Anywayssss, I binged this series last night and it was an enjoyable watch. I like the story so far but the acting is another good reason you must watch this one.
The casts are amazing too. I like the pairing, the side characters and the romance.
Should you watch it? Absolutely yes!

Great Cast, Promising Premise, Disappointing Delivery
I really wanted this drama to be good. The premise has potential, the cast lineup is strong, and I went in genuinely excited to see where the story would go. But honestly… it’s sad to say this one’s a flop.Five episodes in, and I still couldn’t tell what direction the story was heading. The pacing drags on and on without any real emotional or narrative depth to keep you hooked. It’s like the plot is wandering aimlessly, leaving the viewers wondering “okay, where is this going?” And four/five episodes didn’t provide solid and interesting answers.
The “I should keep watching this show” factor is what I’ll say is missing.
Also, some of the scenes felt very low-grade, especially the VFX. Instead of adding magic or charm, they made the whole production feel cheap. And that’s the most disappointing part: there are great actors here, people you’d expect to shine in a fantasy drama…but the writing and execution just didn’t give them the material they deserved.
The story has so much potential, but the execution completely missed the mark. Sadly, I have to drop it.
Oh, but one thing I did like about the show is the child Ka-Young, she’s a good actress. And I like the grandmother-granddaughter relationship too.

2 Hot Men, 10 Dance: A Work of Art
What I felt while watching this movie, I can’t explain it with words, but let me try. This film is driven by music, movement, and intense emotion. And I felt every bit of it, every single bit of it.
The dancing is both sensual and powerful, not just because of the skill involved, but because of what it represents. They move through many styles; classic professional dances and then Latin dances filled with passion and intensity. And the actors nailed the performance. God, those men!!!!
At the center of this story are two men slowly falling in love. And this love is what will eventually give meaning to the dancing; it’s what turns technique into expression. We’re not just watching them dance, we feel their desire, vulnerability, and longing through every step.
By the end, the film leaves you inspired. It makes you feel like you could dance too, even if you never have before.
It’s emotional, beautifully crafted, and simply a very very good watch.
Can’t wait for the second season! 10/10 for this one!

It’s Great Until You Decide to Rewatch It…
Loved this show when I first watched it (now I wonder how…)Rewatched it a couple of days ago and I just shouldn’t have. It has quickly shifted from a show I love to a show I used to love.
Why?
The romance/chemistry between the ML and FL is actually LACKING in many ways. They have no chemistry and a rewatch will show you that.
The second ML and FL were quite good BUT the romance could use more work as well.
I honestly don’t know how I feel about this after rewatching, but I’ll say it’s a show you should only watch ONCE!

We Deserve a Second Season…
It was a good watch but should have been longer.I like the story, the angst, the acting, the chemistry, but not the ending.
The ending is just unacceptable. We deserve at least an episode or two to see their lovely happy ending.
Anyways, taking what we can get, but if you're wondering if you should give this one a chance, you should.

Talk About a Good Kdrama…
This was definitely a very good watch. Now, it’s not a show for everyone but it is a great show.
This Kdrama touches on some really heavy themes and it’s as intense as it gets, but all in a very very good way.
I have so many good things to say about it, but I’ll just tell you to watch it if you haven’t yet.

Unlabelled Asexuals, Allosexuals and the Tragic Dynamic of Allo-Ace Relationships
By the way, the headline is the title of a literary analysis piece that I wrote about this beautiful work of art titled - When It Rains It Pours.I have so much to say about this and will come back to edit this review.
For now, let me just say this BL show is more than just a BL show.
I watched it and the story stayed with me for days …

It’s Actually Not Even That Bad…
I mean I have watched worse BLs and personally I did not hate this one. It’s just one of those lighthearted JBLs to watch “on a rainy day” (see what I did there? 😉)
Anywayssss, about the story? It’s nothing too intense but slightly intense? I feel like the show would have been better with a simple and ordinary storyline. But it seems the writer wanted the story to be “deep and touching” but that didn’t really happen so the plot kinda fell in between?
None of what I’ve said makes sense to you??? Okay! Okay! Watch it and you’ll see what I mean…

A Breeze of Not-a-Bad-Watch…
Okay, I actually finished this one many months ago but yeah just deciding to leave a review today.Honestly, it was a good watch and I liked the MC and ML’s chemistry.
Like I said it’s been a while and I can’t remember much of what happened in this BL show, but I know it was not even a bad watch at all.
I mean the storyline is nothing extraordinary, but it was worth watching.
