If someone had told me that I'd give this rating to one of my most anticipated dramas of 2025, I'd tell them they're crazy, but yes, I've given it this rating despite everything. Where to start? A couple with tremendous potential, demonstrated in The Princess Royal (one of my favorite historical films) only for all of that to be wasted with the most mediocre script I've ever seen in my life π On top of that, that violent chapter cutting was horrible π
Some scenes made no sense, some subplots were incomplete. Can someone explain to me how they're going to address that ending for Xiaoqi or his parents, for example?
They didn't even address the issue of her dead brother in more depth. I'm left in limbo. a rushed, pointless and even very silly ending in my personal opinion It's a shame, I think, that both the platform and the people involved in the project didn't take full advantage of Zhang Linghe and Zhao Jinmai's talents.
I don't know if we'll have any opportunities in the future, for a third project but I will only accept it with a great script π
I must say it's one of the best adaptations I've seen in a long time I was afraid it wouldn't be up to the Korean standard, but overall they managed to give it a good performance π I liked the main characters and the story... they managed to give it their typical J-drama touch, which I loved. The villains were also up to par, my respect π The chemistry was present although I admit that I would have liked more romantic moments and more kisses π€ I loved the villains' ending and I feel like it was the best part of it all β€οΈβπ₯ If I'm honest, this is how I wanted the Korean version of karma to be. Yes, I think he wanted a wedding and children and it was strange that after 10 years they finally proposed to each other, but the truth is it didn't bother me that much β¨ I recommend this version, the same as the original story but still different in essence π
Second part of Flourished Peony and one of the premieres I was most looking forward to πβ¨ I have to say a lot of things about this drama... overall I really liked it, a well-made female-central drama and if I'm honest, one of the best I've seen π Yang Zi is an actress I met thanks to this project, and I know I'll pay more attention to her work in the future. Mudan became one of my favorite female characters... a woman who fought against all fate, always in a dignified and honest way β€οΈ A story that takes us back to a time when women in the business world were non-existent, but she achieved it with so much effort and hard work. Jiang, a charismatic but tough character... had a very good and mature personal growth β¨ The chemistry between the leads was already magical in the first part, and in this second part, the level rose to 100% β€οΈ In part thanks to Yang Zi and Lixian's incredible personal friendship in real life π«Ά Yes, I think that in terms of plot, the first part was a little more interesting, but overall there were 56 well-constructed chapters with a great message β¨ I took off some points for the villains' performance, which in my opinion was very null, it didn't meet my expectations But I will definitely recommend this drama to everyone β¨
Thank you, Flourished Peony/In the Name of Blossom, for becoming the best thing to come out in 2025 π
finished 8.5/10 π Personally, I really liked this story. I admit that I haven't read the webtoon and that at the time there were criticisms regarding the way it was adapted, but overall, I think it's a very good drama π What I liked most was the chemistry of the protagonists A great valid point in all was that both Seo Hyun and Taec Yeon felt very natural in their acting, extra point to the kisses that were great π€ The overall story was interesting and I loved Seon Chaek as a character... he had a very good growth, from trying by all means to reunite the protagonists of their favorite webtoon to fighting for their own destiny π Yi Beom, although he was considered a "ruthless killer," I must say that I loved his attitude towards the protagonist; he simply fell in love with her β€οΈ Now, let's get to what I didn't like: I feel like the ending was too "perfect" in every way... for me, the villains deserved more... They didn't even have a decent performance to say: ahhh well at least he apologized π€· I also felt like the episode cuts took their toll on him. Dramas like these deserve 16 episodes or more. Some supporting characters were left adrift, and others passed unnoticed... I still think it's an excellent drama if you're looking for some comedy and romance β¨
A drama that had me very excited because I consider myself a fan of Meng Ziyi's acting β¨ I think it had an excellent start, the plot of intrigues + the arranged marriage is something that will always be a big YES for me. Then, halfway through the plot, I feel like the story has fallen off track. What was the princes' plot + the dispute over the exams? All of that put me to sleep, causing me to have to watch some episodes in double. Then they played the parts that interested me most... how the mystery of the cure for Tao Hua's poisoning but even that felt super silly how it was solved... Which brings us to the ending, which for me was super weak. I expected something more and it didn't exceed my expectations much. However, I didn't lose many points because I really liked the couple's chemistry and although the drama didn't do them justice, I enjoyed each and every one of their scenes for the most part β€οΈ
What a journey we had with this drama, and its name does it justice: A Dream Within a Dream
Overall, I liked it. I think it was entertaining most of the time. Something I highlight is the handling of hilarious comedy and black humor This is an aspect that not everyone likes, but personally it is one of my favorite genres π Liu Yuning, as always, does an excellent job. His role as Nang Heng has been my favorite of his so far, and I've become his number one fan βοΈ Li Yitong is an actress I saw for the first time in this drama. In most aspects, I understood some of the decisions she made for the sake of the plot, and she had a very good growth almost towards the end something I liked π Now for the negative:
I felt like it got a bit boring halfway through, and the constant misunderstandings between Yimeng and Nang Heng had me stressed out. I think Nang Heng suffered so much that it looked absurd π€· Yimeng had a fixed obsession with Nang Heng's "supposed" evilness to the point where she looked silly and capricious when at times she looked intelligent and intriguing, which left me? I admit that the ending was one of the best I've seen in terms of transmigration. Although it is a striped genre, not all achieve harmony in this aspect and this drama at least achieved it β¨ I'm finishing my thread by recommending Dream Within a Dream if you want some dark comedy, hilarious situations, and a happy ending βοΈ
What a wonderful journey I had with Reborn, a drama I didn't know I needed but that came to me at the crucial moment π A raw, realistic and above all reflective story that makes us question how far we are willing to go to be happy. This year has definitely been Zhang Jing Yi's year, his two 2025 dramas have been among the best of the year for me... She has a magic hand for choosing good products and always offers us an impeccable performance πβ¨ Zhou Yiran is a growing actor and he's doing very well. I loved his character and the personal growth he's had. I have to highlight the script, which was IMPECCABLE, and the performances OUTSTANDING ππ 23 chapters where the direction and execution of the drama show you different nuances... you can't help but cry or feel angry because its characters captivate you. Simply incredible. I didn't put all the punctuation although I was tempted to do so because I would have liked the reconciliation not to have taken so long but for everything else it's incredible β¨
finished 10/10 π second kdrama after WLGYT that I give a full rating to π What a journey I had with this story, I didn't think I'd like it so much ππ A beautiful story about two sisters and their journey of discovery and healing... without a doubt one of the best of 2025 Park Bo Young is an established actress... her choice of projects lately has been incredible. She always touches on plots about mental health and embracing second chances simply the best π
I loved everything from the scenery to the sound. Each subplot was well-cared for, nothing was left unresolved, and it showed clear realism towards the characters β¨ A comfortable ending full of nuances and facets, although I'm not a fan of open endings, the way they portrayed it has been one of the best I've seen. Thank you, our unwritten Seoul, for being the comfort that was with me all this time. You will have a special place in my heart π
A drama that I think deserves more recognition. A lawyer who sees ghosts and gets justice for those betrayed by the korean labor system. Overall I really liked it, an excellent combination of comedy and drama... I think Kyung-ho is an excellent actor, especially in hilarious comedy. The role fit him like a glove, and his chemistry with Seol-in-ah and Cha-hak-yeon was a huge 10/10 for me. I also liked the stories of the different victims that Mujin helped. I think perhaps a big problem the drama had for me was the excessive cutting of chapters. I feel that a plot as general and broad as this one deserved its full 16 chapters The ending was open to personal interpretation, there were things I would have liked that they had more depth like the reconciliation of Mujin and his wife, I felt that scene was super random or the fact that it seems like I will continue seeing ghosts? But it's a kdrama that you enjoy and I recommend checking it out β¨
Imagine having a huge franchise in your hands and having written an epic ending only for it to turn out to be a joke... This third part had a clear purpose: to promote the American spin-off of these games, absolutely everything was forgotten, the most relevant characters died first, the characters, The characters I had hope in were given an absurd plot twist and the ending was so WTF... I'm just disappointed
For me, a Bailu drama equals drama, angst, a good dose of kissing, and stabbing π€ But seriously, I have to say that overall, I really liked the drama. In terms of special effects, acting and scenery, they were a 10/10 π«Ά As for chemistry, I can only say that it achieved its purpose π₯ Both Joseph and Bailu gave us a couple of ex-lovers + rivals worthy of mentioning with a background that exceded my expectations which in itself were not many π I think what I liked least was the script and how it was approached. There were some very boring secondary plots, I would have liked some characters to have had more importance than others I had to watch many scenes in x2 because of the annoyance I felt watching them π¬ The ending was much better than I imagined π They managed to turn it around and make it not seem so forced, which had me somewhat worried Maybe the cuts took their toll on some things, but I'm not complaining that much β¨
Finished 9/10 π The Haunted Palace has been one of my favorite Kdramas so far in 2025 I know it's not a genre that everyone likes since it mixes fantasy, history and horror, but I personally loved many aspects of this story π 16 chapters that were mostly well-developed
Perhaps some filler moments that could have been avoided, but I'm not complaining. I loved the protagonists, I warn you from now on that it is not a drama focused on romance but on action and suspense. Sung Jae and Boah did a great job in terms of chemistry, maybe I would have liked to see more kisses but it's a great balance with everything else the kdrama has. Sungjae, portraying both the snake demon Gangcheol and scholar Yun Gap, is a 10/10. I want to highlight Kim Ji Hoon, who also did an incredible job portraying the king and the eight-bodied demon. π
He's been my favorite king in a historical kdrama so far. π€ I really liked the ending and I was satisfied. I 100% recommend it. It's worth giving it a try.
Completed 10/10 π Drama of the Year π Only The Best Thing and Wlgyt had received a full 10 from me this year, and now Legend of Zanghai joins the team. Not only do I think it's one of the best this year, but also one of the best I've seen in general An impeccable script 40 chapters that weren't wasted at all π It's the first drama I've seen about Xiao Zhan, and I loved what I saw. Zanghai was a complex character, with nuances and flaws, which reminded us at every turn that he was an imperfect human. Antu was another character I loved π A strong, independent woman with a kind heart. Her relationship with Zanghai was complicated at first, but toward the end, she became his support. The scenery, the acting, the production... I feel like everything was in tune and I have nothing to criticize the drama for. I recommend Legend of Zanghai 100%. I hope you give it a try, it's absolutely worth it π
finished 9/10 β¨ One of the dramas I was most looking forward to in 2025. Overall, I really liked it. It highlighted the main couple, who were very well executed in terms of chemistry and development π Liu Yuning is an actor with whom I had the pleasure of seeing previous works, in my opinion he never disappoints and is one of those whose historical roles fit him like a glove It's the first time I've seen a song zuer and that fell in love not only with her beauty but with her facial expressions... She has the gift of showing you every facet in a very eloquent way and that is not done by any actress As for the script, I will say that I liked the first part of the story the most... There were some chapters where the filler predominated and the ending seemed very rushed... But it is very enjoyable. Special mention to the ost which was phenomenal π
One of the Kdramas I was most looking forward to seeing since it was set in the same world as Hospital Playlist π Overall I really liked it, it follows the same rhythm and consistency in addition to the different stories that converge within the Yulje hospital π€ There were characters that I loved from the first time I saw them, like my beautiful Yi Young, who went back to work to pay off a debt and found herself slowly falling in love with her job β¨ Jaeil, a former idol who took up medicine as a second option after failing in his debut β¨ There were also other characters that drove me crazy, from the main cast to the guests, but I must say it was a pleasure to watch this story on air π As for the ending, they left it open to a second season and I hope they keep it, I would like to see more π Maybe medical dramas aren't for everyone (I include myself on that list) but I feel like they're worth checking out β¨
Completed 9/10 π What a trip filled with beautiful landscapes and an impeccable story you gave me, dear Hongrang πIt's been a while since a Korean historical film excited me so much. Lee Jaewook is impeccable and proves once again that this type of role suits him perfectly β¨ Boah performed excellently, especially in his melancholic scenes. I could feel his pain and anguish through his character π Kim Jaewook as a villain, which was spectacular, although I felt that I needed more of him. I wanted to see more representation of his character and I was left wanting more π A heartbreaking but healing ending that teaches us that someone always comes into our lives who gives us a purpose for living. It may not be a kdrama for everyone, but for those of us who love the historical genre, I must say that this kdrama is incredible π
