My childhood is full of memories of watching dramas :
- watching historical c-dramas with my parents after dinner and have them translate me every word because I can't understand mandarin. The drama that I can remember very clearly is Princess Pearl because we had the VCD and I kept rewatch it so many times.
- watching HK dramas with my grandma when we went to visit her during summer. She never went to school but has learned to read chinese characters watching dramas !
- Watching K dramas with my mom during holidays like Full House/ Jewel in the Palace
- watching cheesy romance drama by myself like Devil Beside You/ Boys Over Flower
Growing up in an European country, I somehow rejected my asian culture during my teenage years (#doubleculture) and I then start to watch more Western shows and dropped asian dramas. And I don't know why, but I kept the image that asian dramas are so cliche and cheesy.
I recently came back to asian dramas (#peacewithmydoubleculture) and just realised that the image I had was so wrong : I took my time to watch The rise of Phoenixes and was so in love with it. I then discovered MDL and a large new world just open up haha!
Modern K-dramas and historical C-dramas are my favorites.
