I feel like they have to rush to get the capital. Since we only have two not-so-good episodes. Let’s give them…
I mean kind of how they did for Blue Whisper by dividing it into two parts and therefore allowing it to exceed the 40 episode limit. Anyway it's done. Just wishing the quality of the 1st 27 episodes had continued in the last three. I hope the last time are as good as those before
This series needed to be split into 2 seasons to give it justice because the max 40 episodes allowed are making these last few episodes feel super rushed. Real shame. I have been loving this show and rewatching episode 1-27 repeatedly, but ep 28-30 have sadly left me feeling a bit meh. I would have liked each scene to be longer with more depth, the transitions smoother, and in some cases more explanations about the history as was provided in the novel. Anyone feel the same?
Ep 28 is the first episode I find myself disappointed with. It felt like a cram episode with a bunch of different things shown only halfway, some of which not making much sense.
While I enjoyed the novel's earlier plot, I honestly wasn't a big fan of much of the palace intrigue portion. It felt a little all over the place, so I hope they change that up a bit in the show. Same for Li Huai An's character. I really hope that doesn't follow the novel. As for today's episode (ep25), while it seemed off that she could capture Sui Yuan Qing without resistance from the guards, I felt her actions perfectly displayed her ignorance to military hierarchy and discipline. While Changyu's actions were impulsive and reckless, I was more focused on how strange Xie Zheng's decision to get the Sui army to try and demoralize his felt. It seemed like a really poor decision, and I couldn't figure out his reasoning.
