Tbf Sol pretty much grew up loving him for 15 years as a fan (not as an unhealthy sasaeng fan either since it was mostly because he saved her). So it's not like she fixated on 19 year old Sanjae specifically. In fact she took drastic steps to ensure that SJ would stop liking her because she didn't know that he was already in love with "Sol" before she time travelled.
She only fully accepted and reciprocated Sanjae's love when they were 34 (ep 8) and then later when Sanjae was 20 (after he knew everything about her).
So it may sound weird at first but it really isn't 🙊

Sanjae always liked her but in the original timeline he never had a chance to approach her/ confess his feelings because of the accident (basically Sanjae falls for Sol/ moves to the neighborhood somewhere around April 2008 and Sol's accident happens on 1st Sep 2008 so it makes sense why she didn't know him given their conflicting schedules and so on).
That's the reason why in the first 2 timeslips till ep 7, Sol focused on making Sanjae her idol (and later friend after the first timeslip) happy and feel cared for/ make him love himself more and "selfish"- to combat against his depression. She had no idea that Sanjae knew her/ saved her till she fell into the resovoir in ep 4 or 5🙊
Sol doesn't find out the exact reason why he kept dying (i.e. murder and her connection to it) till ep 9.

The taxi driver and the related angst don't really appear much anyway (i mean it is important but there's more to focus on) so there are many scenes you can still enjoy
Don't worry....you'll be revisiting ep 15 and 16 alot (at least that was the case for me)
"Atypical Family" honestly- the vibe is quite unique and the story as it moves forward gets really good. And you see traces of Sol and Sanjae in a way with the ML (bonus there's timetravel involved here as well but to past moments and for only a few minutes)

Maybe it's because this isn't on Netflix. This drama appears to be receiving less attention from worldwide k-drama…
Think it's also the fact that international fan views are not tracked for the most part since they have no choice but to use unofficial sites since Netflix doesn't have the drama and they don't have subscriptions/ access to the other sites.
Additionally she really didn't know him before the original accident either (she wasn't even aware that her neighbour moved when she first found out Sanjae was her neighbour)

Tbh when you check the korean snippet that's circulating against the ready made english translation, there's a lot of context missing in the english version.
