Clean your palate with a slice of life story, beautiful imagery and TCM.
I want to give props for how unique this drama was compared to the others I've seen (and the ones I like). This drama flips cliches and common romance tropes on their heads. Our male lead stank of second male lead syndrome very early on, which is not something I'm used to in my male leads. He was kind and gentle and honestly pursuing a woman who he thought was still in a relationship. I didn't like that very much. However, her behaviour was very unlike someone in a relationship, so she did enable this. You know, I'm used to the domineering CEO being the male lead, but this time, it was the ex! This drama really does flip tropes around, and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would've. This was very refreshing.
If you need a more realistic slice of life story with no over the top drama, this is your guy. I also very much enjoyed learning about traditional Chinese medicine in such a unique way. As a scientist myself, I do believe that a combination of Western and traditional Chinese medicine will be the future of medicine and TCM is nothing to dismiss.
