Reply 1988 has the same setting but I guess the theme is a bit different. There is also a movie called '1987: When the Day Comes' which would be most similar because of the political plot line.

In south korea ratings will depend on the plot doesn't matter how well known the cast members are. So I'm just praying the plot is good enough to keep the general public interested.

yeah but with jisoo the hype is nothing i've seen before for a drama that hasn't even aired lol jisoo is for sure bringing most of the hype and there is nothing wrong with saying that. Both jisoo and the cast are benefiting from each other :)

The only reason why I replied to that comment like that was because that person literally created the account today just to post that comment. I mean I’ve seen several similar comments and tbh it’s annoying. Also the way they started their comment is the way every single Blackpink anti starts a comment “ I love them but- ”and proceeds to say BS. I’m fine with criticism but like let the girl breathe people need to see her act before criticizing. Lol and all these thinkpieces for hyeyoon as if she was forced into choosing this role good god.

If you were a fan why would you be mad at Jisoo getting this opportunity? I mean you aren't even giving her a chance to prove herself before writing all this BS. Sure Kim Hyeyoon is a great actress but it's not like she was forced to choose this role or anything since she's able to choose from various script offers that came to her considering her rise in popularity after sky castle. Plus I'm sure the drama is an ensemble cast with multiple leads, just look at all those names? I'm sure they all play an important role and Hyeyoon chose the role so it must be interesting enough for her to choose this over her other script offers.

not sure about that usually for tvn/jtbc the earliest I've seen trailers come out is 2 months before the air date. Jtbc will most likely post a trailer end of april or beginning of may. We just have to be patient I guess lol.

I guess its because its airing in June there's still so much time, plus hae in hasn't even started filming for snowdrop yet, he's still filming his netflix drama. I think we might get script reading pics next month or March latest.

yes you are right.. unfortunately it is very common in kdramas, especially with idols who are pushed by their companies into acting but Jisoo has said many times she originally wanted to be an actress so thats why she auditioned at yg, + i think she took acting lessons even after debuting in bp so I have faith in her especially since she did audition for this role!
