I was thinking the same in the beginning, but I come to believe it's most likely intentionally because it's shot like how a book is written. Imagine how each chapter normally starts in a book. If you were to translate that into a video, it would also have a sudden cut feel, like in this drama. I think the director intentionally add in that feeling.

I know. I LOVE IT!! All the bgm and ost. The bgm is so nicely paired.
It's one of the best for me as well. I pay attention to bgm more than OST. If this one is the best for you, then I HIGHLY recommend The Long Ballad because it's the ONLY drama I remember its awesome bgm pairing, and I've watched a lot. Happy watching...and "listening." 😁
