I was waiting till this drama finishes airing to watch it, how was it for people who have finished it? Is it romantic…
It’s a great show! Yes, there’s plenty of romance, and it’s realistic, mature, and angsty. If you’re looking for high-school lovely-dovey romance, this isn’t it. The romance many not be explicitly visual in every episodes, but you can feel the undertone and it’s a strong one. All I can say is, anyone who doesn’t feel the love and bond FL/ML have for each other, that viewer has a naive and rosy view of the world.
Are you caught up with the latest episode? The ML deserves everything, but does the FL deserve the ML?
How did FL hurt his sister(s)? If anything, she saved ML's youngest sister when she was assaulted and implored to stay strong and continue living. I don't remember any scene when she hurt the older sister. As for hurting the ML, I also don't see her doing this intentionally. She saved him more than one occasion.
Since her goal is to bring down Mr. Rong's businesses, she tried to target just him and his unsavory business partner(s). Are you saying that she should not avenge all his wrong doings? (We wouldn't have City of Streamer then, and the show would have ended after 5 episodes). How else would she end his shady business? Should she just walk away and pretend nothing happened? That her father and mother weren't murdered? That she herself almost died? Not to mention what happened to her brother and adopted family.
She's righteous and principled. That's her moral compass.

I finished ep 38. They deserve each other.
Some viewers don't like the FL, claiming that she's out to hurt the ML. I don't see it that way at all. In the last few episodes, she's distancing herself from him, but that's because she's being realistic. Any sane person would understand that having a relationship given their current individual situations would be difficult. Can't viewers give her the benefit of doubt that she's doing this because she doesn't want to tag him along anymore? Do viewers just expect her to drop everything all of a sudden now that she's in love with ML? She's not foolish and that's why I like her. They love each other but time and place aren't right. That's why for them to "work", they have to be away from the current mess.
Why are people complaining about this drama and FL in particular? The show is so good and entertaining. FL's role is one of the best I've seen in a while: smart, strong, focused, has a backbone and integrity, self restrained, and much more positive traits not listed.
ML still deserves FL. I can't wait for them to "meet up" later and have their HEA.
I can't wait for the last 2 episodes tomorrow. I hope they didn't make any major changes to the end of the novel.…
Same here. Can't wait for the last two episodes. This is the only drama I've been chasing weekly. All other airing cdramas/kdramas got dropped because they were mediocre at best.
i haven't started watching this drama yet, but after reading many comments, i wonder if the ML is really without…
He's very intelligent. I would vouch for his character anytime over SML. Also, in the show, he 's 19 turning 20. FL's 23/24. SML's in his mid/late 30's. So, in the beginning of the show, ML may seem childish but it's also an act to hide is true nature. As the drama progresses, ML flexes his brain cells quite impressively.
What’s refreshing about this drama is that, both the ML and FL are quite mature in their way of thinking. There…
I find the scene at the lantern festival heartbreaking as well. You can sense they have strong feelings for each other, yet have to retain a distance. As much as he loves her, he can't even "beg" her for a second chance as he used to because now he feels that his family/his father owes her too much.
This normally happens on the weekend for all shows, then it would reverse to the norm. I believe MDL is doing weekly maintenance or running some kind of automated script.
I’m so glad Jiasheng and Shizhen finally have a heart-to-heart talk and lay it all out. The level of trust they share is tighter than ever. I’m also happy they clear the air about Ms. Hashimoto so that she could never place a wedge between them.
Just when we thought the coast is clear and it’s smooth sailing from here, the writer dealt us a heavy blow about ML/FL biological relationship. What a twist indeed.
I have to give credit to the director for always ending the episodes with a cliffhanger.
I've been bing-ing on this drama. I'm on episode 28 and waiting impatiently for the next one. It's so good! Timmy…
I enjoy the supporting cast too; especially when Mr. Rong’s puts up a nonchalant and relaxed charm for the outside world to see. Mr. Meng is just as talented portraying a cold and menacing boss. You can literally sense his insidious aura and promise to do harm in some eerie scenes. These two are well cast for their roles.
So much intense scenes!!! Finally Feng Shi Zhen betray that Meng Xu An ... 😂
Yes, I love that in her. The ability to detect right and wrong, and jumps ship when she no longer sees eye to eye with Meng on moral ground. Although they have a common enemy that started their vengeful collaboration, eps 25/26 reveal that Mr. Meng is just as wicked and dishonorable as Mr. Rong in that taking innocent lives is nothing in accomplishing their ultimate personal goal.
Some drama series are meant be watched as it AIRS so that the viewers can experience the immense intensity of suspense, excitement, thrill, angst, and all other emotions that the story delivers ----- and City of Streamer is one such drama. It's one that should be savored slowly like fine wine and dark chocolate as the storyline unfolds. I was screaming in delight over so many scenes with today's episodes.
So many impactful moments and revelations are packed in here. I've yet to come down from my serotonin high.
I feel that ML senses Zhichen working for their family is not innocent plain and simple, since discovering about…
He probably has his suspicions at this point, but since he’s smart and analytical, he would have placed himself in her shoes and would understand why she did what she’s done. He knows his father isn’t a saint.
Watch it now… and enjoy!

Love this scene.
