You're right. Yoh's the very definition of a textbook tsundere. Him being an unreliable narrator is a key point in the manga.

Yoh is allowed to do whatever the hell he pleases. I don't know where people got the "dom/sub" dynamic from. They just have a complicated relationship.

One of my favorite lines from the manga is when Mizuki says "I offered to feed and clothe and house your ass and you didn't take that as a proposal? You're an idiot, you know? Just accept my love for what it is..." It's stupidly cute and funny. A proposal isn't exactly the first thing that would come to my mind, and Yoh also mentions "What kind of man proposes before dating?!" Pretty sure this will be covered in episode 2 as this is from the latter half of chapter 1 in the manga.

No, literally. I was so confused and questioning if I'm just viewing things wrong because I read the manga. They aren't bad for each other at all? Mizuki shows his affection for Yoh in strange ways but he really, truly loves and cherishes him. I can give manga spoilers if anyone wishes. It's nothing dark at all.

Though maybe my standards for what's considered "toxic" is just high since most of the media I consume is BL. Also, there's no dom/sub kink in this? They just have normal sex in the manga. It's all about how they can't be direct towards each other (for some reason) and do everything indirectly.

I really can't help but wonder how they're going to deal with That Scene in chapter two... But we did already get a glimpse of it.
