As a former literary student I think some of the criticism is far from what is present in the series so far. As I have learned to base my analyze of a story in finding the character motivation and motive give room for understanding. I find it interesting how often we use the word toxic without first see what motivate the characters actions. To me this story is about communication and honesty and how the character slowly learning to upen up to each other. It is about the journey to change the state of their relationships so I think it is too early to judge how they gonna end up.

He do not even need to cry, but his eyes speak volum of the pain he is going true... Poor man crumble before u as he going into his shell again.😢

I totally understand you, but then in real life relationship often gonna come a time where conflict happens, so how are you gonna handle that. So that is what screen writer are showing. A good conflict to me is present as a part of the characters weakness as we see with GW and ZX as one has to mature while the other have to learn how to let people in. So to me that is what the writer is telling how they gonna overcome that and become stronger together.

I feel very bad for him getting this break down... Glad she at least trying to fight for their relationship even though it is not gonna be easy. Maybe that is why she say leave me, but come back to me later. As it sound like she give him space to work out his inner struggle as he probably need time to figuring out what bath he want to take.

I just hope ZX is gonna be there for GW when he experience the set back as a doctor. :(

Finally some long overdue communication between Lian and Kuea. I think people need to understand that they both is wrong in the state of their relationship when we first meet them. Both clearly having deep insecurity that manifest in Lian being cold toward Kuea and Kuea lying trying to be mr perfect for Lian. To me there is therefor not only one person being wrong, but both. The series message is about communication and honesty and ep 6 make it very clear to me.

A little behind watched 4 episodes and love this. So far I like Zhi Xiao beside being short minded sometimes, but she also is not afraid to admit when she judged Gu wei wrong. At first pushing Gu wei to operate on her father, she soon understood there was more deeper issues and she even asked him to tell her if he was ready to do so. When he so tell her she never push more about it and trying to cheer him up. Beside her young and rash nature she have allot of empathy in her. She really listened and when she saw that his hand was shaking after helping her wound she remember him telling about it as a symptoms of his trauma. This to me also a big difference between ZX and GX as ZX actually give space and room for GW to express his feelings, while despite coming from good nature GX pushing the conversation about his trauma at every minute is instead making him closing off even more and make him not opening up to her.

I hope so too. My only consolation is the trailer show there is many sweet dating moments to come. First both have to get the courage to express their feelings.

The sparkle in Lian eyes watching Kuea singing speak volum how proud he is off him and the care and love he have for him. In the end of the day he clearly care for the real Kuea.

Well said. I think the series have present both sides as I understand where they comes from, but we surly gonna get character development from them. If you watched the trailer Lian gonna ask Kuea to be his boyfriend as he realized he never did ask him. Also they gonna have conversation about the marriage too, So it is clear their relationship gonna become better as they express their feelings and thought to each other. Looking forward to that. :)

Reading the novel it is one things I see nobody is talking about is Porsche view on women. I mean female in the novel is used as trash can only for his pleasure, and there is no major female character present in his life as friend or even family. His thought on females is only about their bodys and that are easy to get money from. I guess this maybe is meant to present him as a very typical masculine guy.

Just point out I am glad Kuea remember that night he was drunk and that he kissed Lian. Just that he is confused because he can not imagine Lian do that.

Also when the teacher talked about how Gear and Cots work as a team in a engine, and how the student should apply this in real life made me think it also talk about Kuea and Lian relationship as this is something they have to learn work together for a better harmony as a couple.

indeed! rewatched and noticed when Lian move to kiss, he kiss Kuea nose first gently before the lips still gentle. Then he moves away watching Kuea reaction while Kuea stays still moving a little closer to Lian as a sign that he want more. So to me Lian is sure he do not oversteps.

I think it is more nuanced than just a forced kiss. Before they got in the car Kuea sees Lian, but because he heve never seen Lian wear casual cloths he get confused. Then they got in the car Kuea have a clear moment and says "it is Lian" then he start asking if Lian never wanted to kiss him, before going on about wanting Lian to love him. So the answer from Lain is the kiss. I do think Kuea was not that drunk that he would have refused the kiss if he did not want to kiss, and pretty sure Lian would have let him refuse. We sees Kuea and Diao talking about kissing earlier in ep 2 where he did say he wanted to Kiss Lian. So the kiss to me is more a build up with hidden feelings from Both Kuea and Lian.

I feel the lies and hiding from Kuea started when he came back from UK and said to his parents that he wanted to stay in Thailand. When he mentioned that he wanted to study engineering his father said computer engineering, make me think it is not just Lian he had two different persona but it also goes to his parents.

Lian struggling with not feeling worthy of Kuea as we got that flashback with his dad where he talk about wanting to become successful so he is compatible to Kuea. So I guess this is also why he have been passive to Kuea.

There is so much non communication happening for years between Kuea and Lian that clearing everything gonna take time, but the drunk confession was a turning point. deep down they clearly love each other, but how to start over finding a common ground opening up to each other gonna be fun growth to see.
