The way so many straight dramas don't need kiss scenes to be a straight romance, but people are saying bls to have kiss scenes to prove it's a bl. In my opinion, it was very obvious how they felt for each other; it was so obvious the chemistry between them; it was obvious they were together throughout the entirity of the finale. A kiss scene wasn't needed.

Y'all I had this drama all wrong! I thought it was about the Painter and the Bodyguard or Poly, but it's the Painter and the Crown Prince?!?! I swear all the teasers showed the Bodyguard way more than the CP! This was cute and I hope there's a season two when Junhee (the painter) has finished his enlistment. The OST is really nice too.

I really hope we get a season two cos I need more of the bike racing (and obvious mafia) backstory.

Only watched one episode but it feels very Hannah Montana meets Devil Wears Prada. I'm interested in how the show progresses but it's definitely a quality level below your typical BL show (which doesn't surprise me because misogyny and BLs have had decades to get to the level they are now whereas Sapphic dramas are still very very much underproduced and still producing stories that BL grew out of 10+ years ago).

If Villain, WHY HOT?! I'm sorry, I'ma defend the main villain til I go to the grave. You can NOT expect me to root for Vincenzo (at all) when the villain is THAT.

I mean... I rated it a 7 and that was before I found out the crap going on with the people involved with the show. It's really good until the very last ep: the final episode is such a MESS. Woulda been an easy 8 or 9 if the finale episode had been better.

S2 was dead in the water as soon as Build left. We'll be lucky if BOC follows through with the three dramas/shows they teased in January.

Only 6 eps in but: Why did of the evil CEO have to be so hot *cries* You can't expect me to want our MCs to win when he looks and acts like THAT. I'm on his side.

I love a fantasy historical setting too but this drama seems to have zero world building 😭 it's not indepth at all imo.

I've loved a lot of their projects in the past but OH MY am I STRUGGLING with Alchemy of Souls.

I'm 5 episodes in and ngl I'm struggling. Where's the plot? Where's the world building? There's nothing juicy really happening to sink my teeth into. Also the whole "haha let's make jokes about how much we're /not/ attracted to each other even though we're the MCs and we're following the romance trope EVERY Kdrama has, while poor N'uest actor is our second male lead syndrome" *yawn*

I really wanna enjoy this show because it seems so well loved, hyped everywhere, and both my friends really enjoyed it too (one long term kdrama fan and one recent kdrama fan) but, what am I missing?

If you're not enjoying it by ep 6, just drop it. It's a LONG series. Every episode is over an hour so while I enjoyed it, don't waste your time.
