Title Bad Buddy Spoiler
Is Wai the asshole for getting so mad at Pran when he finally found out that Pat and Pran were dating?
I think he was because of the way he disclosed that they were dating without asking both of them. Pran implicitly hints about how a secret relationship is difficult and why it's so tough on them over drinks with wai. Even after hearing his bestie internal struggles, he shouldn't have taken anything it into his hands without proper communication. He should have just confronted and told pran that he knows about their relationship instead of playing a guessing game and then doing a bf reveal when it was not even his bf. There are certain boundaries one can't cross even if it's a best friend (same applies to a lover). Even if he is Pran's best friend, he's not entitled to know everything about him.

Can somebody please explain to me, what was the conflict between Ohm and Nanon about? I saw something on youtube…
Ohm and nanon are best friends. Ohm was very tired from long schedules and also had the lasik or some type of surgery (based on twitter). So, when he was in front of the cameras the flashes irrated his eyes. He was not in a good mood and both of them got into an arguement. Not sure what it was about but things got a bit heated when ohm tried to stay for the event and nanon told him to go get rest. Friends argue and that's very normal and healthy. Ohm apologized to nanon and during their fanmeet they had a heart to heart talk where ohm and nanon hug and cry while talking about how much they are important to each other. Ohm and nanon have had more individual projects and filming so they haven't had much interaction on camera. However, if you follow them on twitter they are still close and the same clingy besties. Ohm and nanon had their taipei fanmeet on nanon's bday and they hug each other for mins because ohm got emotional. It's just most fans think they drifted apart as their moments are low-key and usually behind the scenes. So, if you follow them on twitter you can find out that they had a lot of events this month and they are still close. Us fans can't know all the details about their relationship as it's not our business but it's annoying when they make assumptions that there's a fall out or blame either ohm or nanon. They are private individuals who like to keep their friendship to themselves and won't do fanservice. If they want to be clingy, they are clingy but it's usually their choice and not to please anyone.

Title Reply 1988 Spoiler
I agree. I'm happy with who she ended up with, but Jung Hwan basically disappeared in the last two episodes, and…
Reply 1988 is kind of based on a real life story and apparently the original ending was that junghwan would die (probably because he's a fighter pilot). The ending got leaked so they had to make a last minute change that junghwan is still alive, hence the few scenes of Junghwan in last 2 eps.

This was lovely. I wanna watch it again. The only thing i wished was different was Wai being a horrible best friend…
I totally understand the feeling. Based on the time span, I feel like it wouldn't have been realistic to show Pat's dad apologizing because he's just not that type of a character. He could feel apologetic but it would take him a long time to verbally express it as it took him years to admit his mistake. So, I was actually glad that the director didn't force it. And, even if he apologized I am not sure if he would have been so easily forgiven. About Wai, he's friend that is very sensitive (can be a pro and a con) and fails to put others' feeling before his. I am glad he was there for him in his highschool transfer days as his best friend, but he did make a few horrible decisions later. Based on the character set up, it was believable that Wai was that type of friend since the beginning. So, overall the director's choices seemed very realistic and not just all "happy-ending" for the sakes of it. I totally understand where you are coming from though :)

I'm sorry but it was clear from the very first trailer that Ohm and Nanon were only going to appear in this series…
Thanks for the polite response! If there were some unreasonble critiscisms from some ohmnanon stans, I truly think that's unfair to both Jimmy and Sea. If there were regarding the acting or plot, I think these criticisms (at least polite ones) would provide great feedback to them and help them improve. It could have been my cup of tea if the director didn't make some questionable choices at least for me. I didn't have a major problem with the plot idea (at least in the intial eps) but the execution of it. However, I totally understand that the current plot could be of someone's preference. It's always great to find people who respectfully disagree on a forum like this because we all are different.

Besides the Tess and Tun storyline, I felt there were many plot holes that were not answered. I respect your opinion that their storyline didn’t interest you, but it did interest many people including me. I feel like using ohmnanon just for hype is a disrespect to not just ohmnanon but also Jimmy and Sea. I certainly know that it’s not ohmnanon’ s series, but their guest appearances in the series weren’t used to advance the plot (as plot devices) and it seemed like the director wasted their potential and time. They could have had the same amount of screen time and still be used in an efficient way for storytelling . I don’t see why people can’t just respect someone’s criticism of the plot, lack of proper plot devices and clickbait promotion. I am not an obsessed ohmnanon fan and I am completely aware of who the main cast is. I personally hope they don’t do a second season (maybe a special ep) because the draggy pacing of the “plot” and lazy writing is something I don’t want for experienced actors like ohmnanon or even Jimmy and Sea (it’s their decision though). I hope all the actors can get a series that actually has substance and provides an opportunity to showcase their full potential.

I am just mad at GMM using them for hype. I haven't seen any other series use a "cameo" in a main poster and even promote them for other events. As I stated above, the lazy writing behind the characters especially Tess and Tun is the main reason why I'm mad. You can't just introduce characters for no reasons (especially ones that have significant value to the plot) and just not provide any explanation on what happened between them. If they didn't want to take the focus of the main characters in the last ep, that's totally okay. However, they could have used subtle flashbacks to at least explain what happened to Tess and Tun (at least in the uncut ver). I wanted to know what happened to Tess and Tun and they did no justice to that story development. There are so many loopholes in the story that are not answered. For ME, you can't just provide fluff for the entire series and barely serve any plot.

I actually don't mind ohmnanon being cameos because they aren't the main cast. However, why introduce plot points about Tess and Tun when you just don't write anything about them later? No matter if the character is main or supporting each character deserves some story development not lazy writing. Even if Ohm and Nanon were stated as "cameos", the promotion and all the posters only hyped up ohmnanon along with the main cast. So, I don't see why ohmnanon stans can't express their disappointment (especially about the writing). How is it their fault when they simply believed the misleading promotion/posters by GMM? I don't have anything against Jimmy and Sea, I sincerely congratulate them for successfully finishing their first series as main leads. I am just VERY disappointed with the director, screenwriting team and GMM.

Title Bad Buddy
Loved everything but the ending... they keep hiding for 4 years because they have a "plan" but what the heck IS…
I think the ending is up to personal interpretation. If you watch the director and his friends' reaction and recap to ep 12, they provide more clarity on the ending. Pat and Pran go back into a secret relationship because they have already done it before. They were teenagers so they had no other choice except to lie to their parents (as parents provide monetary support and are integral parts of their lives). After going thru lows and highs together, their relationship got stronger. So if they have each other, hiding wouldn't be the biggest problem for them. For the future plan, I think over the years they have been making it obvious to their parents. This can be seen from their loud and carefree conversations. I feel like even though they were hiding, deep down they knew their parents would know eventually. So, they just wanted to naturally reveal to them that they are serious about each other and are dating each other for many years. I also think that Pran's dad and Pat's mom and sister have been trying to gradually convince the two parents about Pat and Pran's relationship in the background. In my personal opinion, based on how obvious they became as time went by, they might openly tell their parents soon (maybe after Pran moves back from Singapore). They didn't have to tell yet because initially, they were teenagers dependent on their parents, and right after graduation, Pran went to Singapore. Nonetheless, even in the time they spent together they were smartly trying to show
glimpses of how "rebellious" they are and nothing can hinder their relationship. I think the director could have intentionally left that gap (officially telling parents) for a special episode/movie/season 2. Even without that, this ending brings closure that the parents know and would gradually accept their relationship as they have learned to value their children's happiness. I don't think they would hide forever, it was just supposed to be a phase (that showed their relationship could survive the hiding, the LDR, and whatever other problems they had).

I would definitely add Reply 1988 (kdrama) and Le Coup de Foudre (cdrama). These dramas are centered around the beautiful friendship between not just the main leads but all the characters. It is also presented in a relatable, touching, funny, and charming manner. You feel like you are also one of their friends by the end of these 2 dramas!

Wow I am surprised because the way pat and pran communicate and tackle any problems in their way was shown in the later eps. That's what showed me that a healthy relationship of the LGBTQIA+ community can be portrayed in such a realistic and touching way while breaking stereotypes. However, you are entitled to your opinion and I respect that.

Maybe watch Bad Buddy and they will prove you wrong because the main leads Pat and Pran have one of the healthiest relationships depicted in not just BLs but any drama in general. Not just that, they break several stereotypes too. I agree BLs need proper and healthy representation not just any representation, but the audience need to ask for it or else these writers will really think that we enjoy these nonsense toxic tropes like shown in Cutie Pie. I am so glad a lot of people find some of these toxic tropes problematic and are not justifying their presence just because its fiction.

I completely agree these series (especially Bad Buddy and I Told Sunset About You) have the best osts and bgms (even the instrumentals are so well integrated with the scenes). Cutie pie literally has one song that's okay, nothing groundbreaking in my opinion.

Reading this comment after the controversy makes me wonder if y'all still think the same. I never hated or liked…
Yes, it is true that we don't know everything but we have to also look from both sides. I just hope she doesn't manipulate anything with $ and her ex doesn't shy away from what he revealed. Both parties need to stay true and hope the law protects the kids and supports the one who faced unjust treatment. Btw, I disagree with the point that she won't reveal to public if she was wrong or right. She justified her side that she didn't do anything wrong and kept on blaming her ex for cheating (had no evidence or any ground without even properly addressing or apologizing for the issue with kids) while kind of verifying that she did say those words. That just didn't sit well with me. I do agree with your point about waiting for the results (objectively). However, if she did say those words in actual recording and it is proven, then there's no excuse for her low and cruel character.

Don't try to turn it around on me. I have stated more than twice that I don't support him while you have always only sided with her. We don't know the court result so fans shouldn't spread false or unproven rumors to trash her ex to put her in a better spotlight. From your replies, I never got the feeling that you said "both parents are no good" or else I wouldn't have continued to reply to you so many times. It's good to look at the court result but we have to also make sure that the result is unbiased and reported on truth. At least, I hope we are on the same page for that.
