What did I just watch?

(SPOILERS) I never write reviews on this site, but I can't move on without saying a few things.

What in the world did I just watch?? There was no way this was a sequel because the drop in quality was horrendous. The first one clearly was low budget but it was charming and cute. This was a hot mess and felt like the editor gave up once the footage got the them.

The music cues are awful. They come bursting in loud as heck and then abruptly cut leaving the scene feeling empty and weird and you can only hear room noise. At one point in the voiceover, you can actively hear the lead opening his mouth before saying the words -- why wouldn't you cut that out?! Sometimes the music would start in the middle of a scene then abruptly sto,p making the scene now feel extremely awkward.

The editing was all over the place. A shot would have two characters in it and one would get up to leave out of the frame, then the 2nd shot goes to the character left in the scene, but you can still see the previous character leaving the scene -- again...? And this happened numerous times with various "double-shots" and repeating sounds. I have no idea what was going on there.

The only characters that had any sort of chemistry were Yeonu, Joo Haeng, and Min Jae. Maybe because they all returned from the previous season, but oh my God, the random throw-in of Sehyun and his sister was so awkward and forced. Yeonu and Sehyun's characters felt like brothers and not potential love interests, maybe because it was one-sided for the most part, besides the times Yeonu found Sehyun cute?? It was just all over the place.

The plot, I don't even know what to say about it. It was terrible. I guess we're just assuming that Yuhan is dead because Yeonu's mom is? But it was never stated? So, just assuming he's being held captive somewhere still while Yeonu laughs and has jjamppong with his buddy? It always seemed like something was being set up but was never really taken anywhere, or once it was set up it was immediately brushed over or rushed through.

The acting was fine. Everyone did what they could with what they were given but there was just no real weight to it given how horrible the story was.

All in all, a serious disappointment. Would not recommend to anyone who's seen the first season. Just going to wipe this from my memory and believe that Yuhan is still showing Yeonu tons of new colors.
