Omg I couldn't agree more the FL role was getting on my nerve so much, weak and needy. Who would not tell to her so-called love of her life that she is being bullied, harassed and threatened?? Who would react like a 5 year old when the ML tells her 'I'll introduce you to my family'. Being babied all the time. It felt that the so-called romance between the FL and ML was very platonic, no chemistry at all.
All of these interactions or backstories were so unrealistic. Who pays a flat while just busking in a park? When LDW is bleeding out in the subway, why let a mum and her child just sit there yapping. I’d be taking my child and running away! What happens to the ML pseudo job of being a tree surgeon and why is this here in the first place when he wanted to be a writer?? That should have been explored more. What are these plans of the second ML always in his office waiting around? What happened to the other gang members in the end?? It felt that every sequence just popped out of nowhere with no continuity. Why make the eldest sister stay in her younger sister’s flat doing nothing for like 3 episodes. It makes no sense. Then she re-unites with her son like she just went to the groceries store and the result of her abandoning him is completely dismissed. Every here and then there is a useless mini re-cap of what happened in a previous sequence. This is so unnecessary, the viewers are not that amnesic.
One thing it highlighted is that no one takes accountability for their actions. All this mess emanates from the eldest daughter and the father’s wrong decisions but then the youngest sister and the son clean up after them. There should be more exploration in the characters dynamic after that, but there were no emotions. In reality there would be more anger or resentment to explore.
The plot had potential but it was so badly executed. It was too cliché (driving around in a black leather jacket.. come on), too slow, no room for growth.
No wonder why LDW looks so deflated in the BTS or the promo of this show because it is a waste of talent; Lee Dong Wook and Park Hoon's acting is great but this drama didn't do it justice.
