I totally agree with you. with a slightly more deft hand, this could have been one of the master pieces of the last couple of years in thriller kdramas. however, despite some slightly clumsy execution, it was still an entertaining watch - driven primarily for me by the overarching plot and some really strong acting performances

johan and north were my favorite from the main series and this was very cute ☺️it was funny though how they had it snowing during Christmas in LA 😂

the only good part of how they handled it is that Jin apologizes specifically for how he treated Akin and for leaving him that night. The show doesn’t really handle it beyond the two mains talking it out (no consequences at all for Johnny)

I’m almost half way through the first episode and Kim Hye Soo speaks so fast?? It’s taking me so long to get through this episode because I keep having to rewind so I can catch what’s being said. Does she always speak this fast because 😂😂😂

#2 easily the best character on the show. I’m only 6 episodes in so things may change, but she’s fantastic. i feel like she’s the kind of person who would have been best to have on the 8th floor, but I’m curious if her character would have turned out the same if she had that kind of power (based on a number of choices she made in the show, i feel like she would have stuck to her values, but you never know)

I am enjoying this, but I am a bit worried. is there any kind of love triangle? does her best friend develop a crush on her or do they maintain the healthy friendship they have now? I don’t mind being spoiled.

I would say it’s not your traditional action show (lots of fighting, violence, shooting etc), but it does have a number of action sequences (extreme driving, jumping out of helicopters, a few war zone scenes) and a generally fast paced vibe

nah I wouldn’t really say there’s suspense in this one. it’s more comedic than suspenseful. what I meant was the action is more “jumping out of helicopters, lots of running, driving vehicles fast, etc” than fighting and violence

imo it’s not so much “action: fighting” and more “action: pace/movement/stunts”

Does Dr Romantic also have comedic vibes? or is it more serious? trying to decide whether to watch it next or not 🫣

I saw that the screenwriter and original creator said that, but also that whether Netflix chooses to produce them vs cancelling depends on the reception of the first season 😔

I haven’t watched Dr romantic, but I did find this really good. Good laughs, fast paced, but also with heart and good vibes

no, but in a good way! it’s got a lot of focus on (non romantic) relationships that really fit well with what the drama is about
