In this specific case, this whole show was created just for ZNN to act. They were super interested in this concept (which Zee came up with) and that's it. They have done a bunch of stuff away from each other, but TNP was just something they wanted to do together.
I watched this in the cinema last year. My advice for anyone considering watching it or not is to go in blind. Let the story come to you and interpret it for yourself. This is something I would absolutely recommend to watch.
