In another drama, high school love on, kim sae ron was 14 by then, and her love interest nam woo hyun was 22. so i think the age gap really doesnt have a bearing in korean dramas. ive watched so many dramas where they pair actors even with 10-20 years age gap. in mirror of the witch, kim sae ron was 16 then and her love interest was 14 years her senior but they played role of same age and there are little to no romantic scenes, thats probably why the directors offered her the role and thats why she accepted bec they knew there will be no romantic scenes.

BEC IN REALITY WE CANT ALWAYS EXPECT THAT GUYS AND GIRLS WHO ARE CLOSE WITH EACH OTHER WILL ALWAYS END UP FALLING FOR EACH OTHER, SOMETIMES THE OTHER PARTY DOESNT FEEL THE SAME AS THE OTHER ONE FEELS. BRINGING JIMIN INTO THE PICTURE MADE HANEUL REALIZE THAT PUREUM AND HE ARE BETTER OFF AS BFFS AND THAT IT IS BETTER TO MOVE ON WITH HIS LONG TIME ONE-SIDED CRUSH. I ALSO LOVE HOW THE WRITERS DID NOT MAKE PUREUM TO GET JEALOUS WITH JIMIN AND HANEUL AND SUDDENLY REALIZES SHE WAS IN LOVE WITH HANEUL ALL ALONG, THE STORY WOULD TOTALLY SUCK IF IT THAT DID HAPPEN.
