You made ur likes, dislikes and expectations clear in your original comment, but now you are acting offended wwhen others clarify that this show wont meet the expectations you wrote out yourself. Get out of your feelings. 2/3rds of your critics revolve around the relationship dynamics between male and female characters. This does not change later in the show. "Somebody please tell me it gets better….please" No. It does not. You will continue not enjoy this from start to end.

Considering your leading critic, this isn't the show for you.

There are plentiful dramas with MLs taking the lead for you to watch and enjoy instead. Some people enjoy and eccentric, non status quo plot.

You are not one of them, that is fine.
There's no need to force yourself.

The tone and the characters delivery, makes it clear that the plot falls on the comedic side, and is not an extremely deep, convoluted and emotionally heavy drama.


Side note: I wonder if you even joy historical dramas in the first place? Since a great deal of them also feature women going hard at each other- which you find unbearably degrading. A main difference, is this one has the men do it overtly also.

Falling in love with someone who has trid to kill you and has choked you is universally a silly thing to do, no matter how long ago the attempted murder was 😂. Like I get that this is a show and so such things are common tropes, but lets not be obtuse - its still silly. Unless she forgets? Gets amnesia in the future?

Clearly the point of the original comment is that the harem is not such a big deal to complain about (Compared to the attempted murders). So responding to defend the harem misses the point.

I really really hate when niche cultural words like 'simp' become mainstream. Now we have people who dont know the meaning of or how to use the word, using it all willy nilly. Every drama comment section is now riddled with people complaining about 'simps'.

QST and situation with his death is the thing she is truly at fault over (a very serious fault). But as for Su Miao and Fang mi, thats mostly on him imo. Esp for SM when she trying her best to distance herself from him.

The first bit about being feminist or otherwise is not an assumption as it is a direct response to the literal opinion of the OP- that the FL's actions are a distasteful "feminist" insertion, which I disagree that it is "feminist" nor distasteful hence my use of quotaions in this comment and the former. 2 In the second bit, I thought it was quite clear that the "you" is plural, extrapolating the original comment into a theoretical situation. No need to make this something it's not.

I dont get when ppl watch a romcom, literally romantic fiction and then whine when the romcom has romcom tropes 🙄. It is fantasy geared towards women, OFC it wont be realistic. The plot isnt even realistic, a prince would not have played house to begin with, so leave ur political woes at the door. And sorry but if someone deceives you into thinking you were married and slept in bed with you for a year- risking at least your reputation and at most sanity- and you take them back easily? You aren't "non feminist" or reasonable but rather meagre in mind and of low self esteem. Any person, friend, lover or otherwise who breaks trust to this extent would seek to work hard to re-establish trust. In the modern world, most patners would just walk away from the relationship or require months of relationship therapy. While I didnt like all of the charavter lines and how little they showed the FL contemplate her forgiveness... the jist of it it is fine.

I for one, am glad the overt romance vibes is gone. Don't like these "adult turn high schooler" shows that have the protagonist date a high schooler, feels creepy and honestly the protagonist seemed to be an upright adult. He went easy on the bullies cause they werent adults yet, his character would persue romance with one. Doesnt fit.

Like she has zero wit about her. There are ways to tell the truth while not giving away any damning information to the 2nd prince. She couldn't even controll her facial expression.

You've taken this quite personally, no where did this person blame the actor specifically. Also 23 is much closer to 16 than 38 is to 24. As in a 23 y/o more easily be believably cast as a teen versus a 38 y/o as an early 20 y/o.
