For the novel, XY is actually a man and doesn't look like herself. But for the drama purpose, they just had Yang Zi dress up as a guy. They are not suppose to look alike at all. If they were accurate to the novel then another male actor would be playing Wen Xiao Liu part. But obviously us drama watchers don't want that, so they just had Yang Zi dress up as a guy.

I suddenly remember in the novel at the bday party of FL and Xinyue (ep 26 in the drama), there was a part where FFB did color changing trick on XY's outfits and one of the colors was red. This is when Mu Fei (the leader of people who attacked XY) saw that she looked so much like Qi Yo (XY's real dad) and made the connection that she is his daughter. That's when he plotted with other families to have XY killed to avenge for their families (The cherry blossom incident coming up tomorrow). I wonder how the drama will play this out since they cut of the part at the bday. And that is kind of important cause thats when her identity is kind of revealed. I agree with you! For example the scene where she is protecting him from getting shot at by the arrow. Literally using her life to protect his life. How can he not fall more in love with her. Its sad but he can see little by little that she is going away from him and being with another man! The sorrow in his eyes š¢
