just curious, does anyone know which story came first in terms of the timeline in the Novoland series? Tribe and…
You mean the book? Eagle Flag was published in 2005 while T&E was published in 2006. Castle in the Sky was an original story (not based on any book)

Title Novoland: Eagle Flag Spoiler
Now that I watched ep 14 with eng sub, I'm even more amazed with Ying Wuyi. Even with the death of his crown prince, he remains calm and clear headed. He's definitely an anti-villain character that worth of respect!

Ep 13 &14 were great I love it! I love how this drama visualise the ancient situation during war. It's not all chaos and constant attack until all the opponent armies dies. The war took place for few days and there would be different military strategies employed for each troupe at different location. It's so interesting to see all those.

Wow ep 11 seriously gave me chills. First of all, Ying Wuyi is such an interesting character. He's like a villain but isn't quite a villain either. I guess he can be considered as anti-villain, a character who does bad things to fullfil his own ambition which he believes to be good, but is actually messed up. On the conference scene between Yi Wungyi and General Xi Yan, I find it extremely interesting how they still kinda had sense of propriety to each other even when they were going to battle on the next day. It gives me new perception how things work when two countries are at war. I also love how this episode depicts well the fear and apprehension felt by some soldiers on the battleground. Ones can feel the fear but still have the devotion to fight for their own country. Besides, the battle scene was such a treat to watch!

Appreciating some moments of Lv Guichen being a selfless and precious bean in episode 10:

- He could afford to buy the jade bracelet for Yu Ran but refused to do so after seeing Ji Ye's sorrowful face.

- When he saw his past with Su Ma and Sister Qin through the conch mirror.. the child-like look and subtle happiness in his eyes are so precious :(

- When Yu Ran said to Ji Ye to come back safe and sound, the gentle gaze of Lv Guichen when he looked at the worried Yu Ran... I feel that! Then he assured her that he will bring Ji Ye back safe and sound.

Liu Haoran is such a perfect cast for this role because he truly gives off the gentle and tranquil vibe. Asule/ Lv Guichen is not the protagonist archetype that is strong and ambitious like most audience prefer to see but his kindness and tenderness really warms my heart. This type of characteristics is usually written for female character, so I'm pleasantly surprised how he portrays it really well. Asule's gentleness reminds me of Empress Fuca from Story of Yanxi Palace.
