I didn't like this one. It's was going well until i found out the ML and FL don't end up together. I don't know…
I agree, kinda. I also really didn't wanna finish it after learning about their ending but in all honesty I don't think their reason for the breakup was all that ridiculous. I won't spoil it in case you change your mind, but for a different perspective: I think their breakup was a realistic one, bitterness and all. Their end was just a result of circumstances and the times they lived in, and as hard as it was to watch I think the writing does a great job in showcasing that sometimes it is all just unfortunate timing. I agree it would've been nice to see resolution with them down the line, but I think the reality that mutual hurt between them was bound to happen - as they were young and shifting into completely different frames of mind - was a good dose of bittersweetness to a lovely coming-of-age story of growth, relationships and first love. I think it's a situation that many can relate to, even though it really is sad to see.
The question of whether it was necessary though? I think that depends on who you'd ask.
(i think it totally wasn't because despite my devils advocacy I STILL WOULD'VE REALLY LOVED A FAIRYTALE ENDING. i dont care how unrealistic or cheesy it wouldve seemed 🥲)
Hope I gave you another perspective!
