I have watched Boss & Me (aka Shan Shan Comes To Eat) from 2014 also by writer Gu Man earlier this year and now…
I agree, I watched boss and me close to when it came out and I still rewatch the second part of the series a lot. It also led me to read some of Gu Man's other novels. What I like about some of their stories is that the couple doesn't break up because of some misunderstanding or self sacrificing conflict and get back together in the final episode or final chapter. The more time they spend as a couple the more they learn to communicate and work together to solve any conflicts that arise. In both boss and me and YAMG there is a conflict relating to marriage where one side is concerned about the others feelings and they talk it out. There is no angry confrontation or misunderstandings that lead to more misunderstandings. They have honest conversations with each other.
......now I want to rewatch the last few episodes of boss and me
I totally agree with the hope that multiple seasons do not become a thing. It's one of my favorite things about asian dramas. You can start a drama and expect to get the full story and the full character development within 1-3 months. It makes it easier for me to start a show too when I know how long it is going to take for me to finish it, I know I won't be waiting seasons for a will they wont they couple to get together. It also makes it easier to revisit shows too.
I'm kind of on the line here. sometimes the facial hair really works and makes the guy look a lot hotter, other times it doesn't look right. It all depends on the facial structure, the amount of growth and the type of facial hair/ amount of grooming to facial hair. Also, it depends on personal preference. also excessively picky note: for most of these examples, no matter how hot they look, I wouldn't really classify them as having beards, more like mustaches and goatees. A better word to use would probably be facial hair in dramaworld. The only full on beards I ever see in asian dramas are those glue on pieces you see on old guys in historical dramas, and those look awful 90% of the time.
everyone is discussing all their time line theories, but all I can think about right now is that lee min ho's neck scar seems to be on the wrong side!!!! I even re-watched that first scene and it definitely seems like the cut is made on the left side of his neck, but for everything after that it's on the right side. Or maybe i'm just crazy.
everyone is saying the couple is very cutesy and has good chemistry, which I don't doubt and is why I started watching it, but what I want to know is how long it takes for the female lead to stop feeling like a creepy stalker? because she totally acts like one in the beginning and I'm not a fan.
I don't know why, but all the versions of the show I can find at the moment have episode 3 and 4 switched. like different sites have it like that. So if anyone has started watching and notice that episode 3 seems to have skipped over some stuff, just skip to episode 4.
Not just Korean. They do that for Filipino movies as well. I noticed this back in January when I started watching…
true, the main actors' accents aren't that bad compared to others, but it's really the very beginning of episode one that set me off. I didn't immediately register he was speaking english, so it brought my attention to the lack of subtitles
this doesn't have anything to do with the content of the show but... is any one else annoyed that netflix doesn't have subtitles for the english parts (for the english subtitles option)? I sometimes have trouble understanding the actor's accent and it would be nice to have subtitles for them. I know they've done this for other korean netflix shows, but I just recently noticed it.
AHH the ring!!! writer-san can't you just let her find the ring? let her keep it as a keepsake?!!Is she never going to know about it? that's kind of frustrating. I just want her to know about the ring and that he was serious about marrying her. Also that psycho wife should just live in misery and guilt for the rest of her life.
Update: with a few exceptions the subs do get better in the following episodes, however episode 13 is missing…
The youtube channel/company that is hosting the eng sub videos i was watching seem to be screwing over the community contributors that were translating the videos, so that is possibly why the subs stopped. I don't know if this is the real reason, but it's the reason why I'm not going to sub more episodes.
Ok I have thoughts about that ending. I am disappointed that it ended that way with Nuer dying, but that is the writers decision. What I don't like is how his death was treated. if he had some disease or sickness like some other commenters have said, they should have done more to tell the audience that. Either through Porsche telling the audience at the end, or show Nuer getting the news or praying for him to get better. If it's not a disease and he just suddenly had a heart attack, I can't accept that. No mid to late 20 year old suddenly has a heart attack unless they have some sort of condition.
i was getting bored with this drama, and debating dropping it, but now with what happened at the end of episode 4 I'm going to have to wait for the next episodes just to see how they are going to solve this.
I made it to episode 5 and then the subtitles went to hell. They are the worst subs i've ever seen, and i've tolerated…
Update: with a few exceptions the subs do get better in the following episodes, however episode 13 is missing subs completely and currently subs stop at episode 46.
I made it to episode 5 and then the subtitles went to hell. They are the worst subs i've ever seen, and i've tolerated some bad subs. I'm hoping it's only for episode 5, I checked the comments for the next few episodes and they seem to be better but I doubt that will continue for more that 70 episodes.
this drama is very cute and fun to watch. the only big downside is some of the dialogue and side character plot lines can run a little on the dramatic side. Especially with the two henchman, the second female lead and her friend that studies abroad.
I have rewatched this movie so many times over the years and i am still balling my eyes out for almost the entire second half of the movie. the fact that I still continue to go back to it should tell you how good this movie is.
I too am an excessive binge watcher, although I have found a few coping mechanisms for some of these problems. For the ads, Kissasian doesn't allow ad blocker but pop up blocker does work (with google chrome) and it works most of the time. I have also binged 20+ episodes and for those I usually end up spending more time on it and/or I skip through scenes. Having a blogger or someone else writing detailed recaps for each episode also helps speed it up.
wow, first I would like to commend the amount of work that was put into this article. Great Job!!
I have never written any reviews, only comments, but I do tend to rely on reviews when deciding what to watch, I'm kind of in between a seeker and a doubter. Although I try not to read too many reviews for fear of spoilers and for fear of being turned off of a show that I would actually like because the reviewer and I have different preferences. Another thing I do with reviews that you didn't really mention is that I will sometimes go back to reviews while in the middle of watching a show. This usually happens when I am starting to get bored with a show and I want to get an idea if it is really worth continuing so I look for reviews with spoilers and search for reviewers who had that same opinion as me, but still watched to the end.
